The forgotten Post

Good Afternoon my darlings. I know some of you are eagerly anticipating the Friday Face Mask, but alas, I sis not get to use one today. I went to put it on, but as I was pulling my hair back, the phone rang. The long and short of it is that I ended up on an unplanned conference call that made masking more or less impossible. So no mask for me.

As I hung up the phone I realized that I also forgot to post my Weekly Weight post this morning. I tell you, it has just been that kind of week.

The lesson I learned this week is that I can manage to avoid binge eating when stressed. That was a good thing for me to learn. The urge to take down a large bag of pretzels in one sitting was a strong one. I resisted and as the stress is ebbing now that most of the bank issues are dealt with I no longer feel the binge need.

Instead of uninhibited snacking, I took a walk.

I’m calling that a victory.

And yes I do wish my scale was here to see it. This marks the end of the second week without the scale. And yes I do miss the accountability that comes from knowing that I need to step onto it every week. Especially this week when I let a lot of my workouts slide as I dealt with other issues.

I’ve found I also like having a checklist of activities to complete each day. I write them on the corner of my whiteboard and as I complete them I get to erase them. There is something very satisfying about starting the day with a list and ending with a cleared space. If I take anything from this exercise in non-scale weight loss. its that check lists where items can be written down and then systematically crossed off make me feel very accomplished, even if I don’t feel like I’m getting anything done, there is the checklist. Which is why it makes me sad that I forgot this post. I made a checklist for my workouts, but not the other things I needed to do throughout my day. maybe I need to write a list for those as well.
