Hey Honey, you looking for the Friday Face mask?

Well, today my darlings I went with the Hey Honey Show your glow Colloidal Gold and Honey Beauty Mask. I’m also going a little early with the mask as I have a conference call later and the masked look might not be the way to go. It might make the call more amusing, but significantly less professional. This isn’t the first time I have used the Hey Honey Gold mask and it probably won’t be the last. Actually, it definitely won’t be the last.

Today’s use will finish out this trial sized tube, however I have two unopened ones sitting in my masking drawer just waiting to be opened. And soon they shall. I am trying to clear out a lot of my trial sized masks and determine which ones I really want to keep around.

Unfortunately, there are many, many masks I like.  Luckily, it is a deep drawer.  And no I am not attempting to go minimalist with my mask drawer.  That is not going to happen.  I am just way too interested in way to many things for my skin care drawers to go minimalist.

However, like my skin care drawers I am trying to use up the sample sizes first and then work on the full sized products.  Partially, it is to make certain things don’t go bad.  I hate when good products spoil because they aren’t being used. It is a pet peeve of mine.

But the main reason is that I want to start treating my masks like the skin care they are.  Don’t get me wrong I will still do one off sheet masks and trial sizes, but like regular skin care  I want to see what they do over a period of repeated use. To really see what effects the masks have on the skin over a longer term.

In this case repeated use will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday for most masks. With the final judgement still coming in on the Friday Face Mask post. The only reason the Hey Honey Show your Glow isn’t being done that way (at least not with this tube) is because I can’t remember when exactly I opened the tube or how many times I used it prior (I believe twice but again, not sure).  So I am using the open tube and I will later be using the other two for a full week for review.  If that makes sense.

Mask on!

But enough of the waffling, to the mask Batman!

And yes I heard the doddle de doo scene transfer music from the old Adam West version of Batman in my head when I said that. Feel free to sing along.

Like most Hey Honey products, I really liked this mask. Thus far the only Hey Honey product I wasn’t terribly fond of was the Take Away the Drama Peel off Mask and to be fair, it is only because I’m not a huge fan of peel off masks.  It worked fantastically, and made me cry when peeling it off, but oh the skin was fabulous once I was done. Still, not big on peel off masks. Otherwise, I have had really good luck with this brand.

This mask is luckily not a peel off mask.  According to the product page this mask is…

Formulated with honey and colloidal gold, this must-have mask works to hydrate while preventing premature aging. Colloidal gold provides anti-inflammatory benefits while preventing collagen and elastin breakdown, preventing the formation of wrinkles while mica infuses skin with a radiant glow. Targets dark spots, dryness, large pores, redness and more, Vegetarian-friendly formula, Boost your anti-aging regimen with Hey Honey Show Your Glow Colloidal Gold and Honey Beauty Mask.

When I put the mask on I felt as though I was the victim of a Bond Villain and hummed the appropriate tune to go with it.  I’m sure you can guess what that was…

Clean, post mask skin, The water was really cold so my nose is a bit red

Because of the music in my head I went with a podcast instead of music.  I chose an episode of the History of Rome Podcast by Mike Duncan. I highly recommend it if you are interested in ancient history or scandal.

Really, to me the history of Rome always sounds like a giant soap opera that ran more seasons than anyone can count.  Sure the hairstyles and clothing choices are out of fashion, but the scandal still sizzles and oh my, what big scandal and drama you have Grandma.

Seriously, in one episode a ticked off Emperor Heliogabalus decides to kill his dinner guests by burying them in flowers (some say violets, some say roses, either way they smothered to death).  The flowers drifted down from above, delighting the guests until they started to smother and die.

Tell me that doesn’t sound like a murderous version of Keeping up with the Kardashians or like the revenge of one of the Real Housewives. It is a history podcast and is written like a history podcast, but I would love to see someone take out the historical details, but keep the roman history timeline and for lack of a better term – plot – and write it out, soap opera style. You could rename them: shorten Augustus to Auggie, call Agrippina, Bunny and I am pretty sure that Tiberius would make an excellent Biff.

Yes, these are the thoughts that run through my head.

A lot if I am being honest.

But admit it, you can see Tiberius as a Biff too, can’t you?

You know you can.

So humming my James Bond theme song and envisioning the ancient Romans as soap opera/reality tv stars, I sat with my mask for the required fifteen minutes.  Then I went to wash it off.  No more gold but soft, deliciously soft, skin and dare I say, a slight glow.

It makes me glad I have two more tubes of this so I can see what happens after a week of use later on. Once I work through a few more open products that I don’t have enough of to do a full week of masking, I will be circling back to this with great delight.  But for now, there is more work to do before I can call it a weekend.

Before I leave you and head back to my paperwork and conference call, I’m posting a few sales you might want to keep in mind both this weekend and next week.  Next week on November 11th is Singles day.  It started as an Anti-Valentine’s day sale and has grown into a huge on line sales day that a lot of people miss.  There are some really great deals to be had.  So mark your calendars and bring your lists.  I’ll post more early next week, but for those of you wanting to get a jump on your planning, here’s a few things to watch.
