The Daily: April 19th, 2021

Welcome to Monday my darlings. I hope yours is going well. I actually managed to get back to the gym today and I also signed up for a meeting with one of the trainers. That’s right Wednesday an actual professional will sit down with me and go over my workout with me and hopefully help me get past this actual plateau. Because lord knows I need help. At this point I think everyone else does as well. So Wednesday hopefully i will be receiving the assistance I need to move forward.

Because let me tell you, this stuck in place feeling is not the best.

And for those of you keeping track I did skip out on my Face mask last friday. After the weight gain of the morning I decided that a gym visit was rather important and so I went. The problem was that I stayed longer than I intended and missed out on my Face Mask. I also spent much of the weekend regretting going so hard. The damage was temporary and a good reminder that I need to not skip the gym for a while and then go crazy on the one day I manage to get there.

Today was a much more normal workout, followed by the happy dance when i managed to actually get an appointment with the trainer. So soon I will not only be on track but it will be a professionally designed track instead of one i cobbled together as I go based on the machines I know how to use.

Today’s look:

Primer: Pixi by Petra Flawless Beauty Primer

Foundation: Ciate London Extraordinary Foundation

Incidentally Ciate London is having a sale. You can get up to 50% on their website right now.

Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil

Blush: Patrick Ta Monochrome Moment in She’s Passionate

Highlighter: Illamasqua Beyond Powder in OMG

Powder: Pacifica Cherry Velvet Translucent powder

Eyeshadow: Subculture by Anastasia Beverly Hills

Mascara Unlashed by Wander Beauty

Lips: bareMinerals Gen Nude in Pout

This was my first time trying the Pixi by Petra Flawless Beauty Foundation. I did not expect it to be so pearly. That really took me by surprise. I’m going to be using it all week but apparently when it say’s glow, it means glow. I used a Matte foundation over it and the two seem to be blending well. Actually the Ciate London Extraordinary Foundation is one I tend to forget I have. It is in a longer tube and can’t stand up in the drawer so i have to lay it on it’s side. As a consequence it ends up getting buried. which is really a shame because it does perform really well. I like that it is a buildable formula. I tend to go a bit light on it, but i absolutely love the way it looks. And it is a little darker than some of my other foundations so I think I will make sure it gets plenty of use this spring and summer as my skin is just now coming into the shade range.

I have to say I am also liking the Patrick Ta Blush more and more each time I use it. It is such a good formula and the color works really well for me. It is very easy to apply too much so definitely use a light hand with it.

I always smile when I take out my Subculture Palette. There was such a furor around it when it was released. Sooooo many people absolutely hated it. And now the news is that it is due to be discontinued. Given the hate that followed it i can’t say I am surprised. Sad but not surprised.

Personally, I really like the palette and I will use it until I hit pan on my favorite shades. The copper shade Adorn has quite the dip going on in my palette already and Cube is looking a little dented as well. I personally like the shade range and the way the shadows work. They blend well for me and the range of shades lets me go either dark or light. There are enough brights to balance the darks for me and there are some stunners in the mix. Today I reached for All Star as a crease shade, layered Rowdy on top and then used Electric on the inner half of my eye. i started to do just a small dot but I just decided to go for it. Given the crease in my lids not much of it shows unless I close my eyes. As my one trip out of the house today was the gym and I am spending the rest of the day working at my desk with only phone calls and e-mails, I decided why not.

And with lips I added the bareMinerals in Pout. I really like this lip gloss. It is pigmented enough to show up and even though it wears off during the day, my lips feel nourished by the formula even after it is gone. So no end of day dry lip. I have to admit, I am also curious as to how long the sample size I have of this lipgloss will last. It is definitely a shade that I will repurchase in the full size but I am trying to abide by the rule that I can’t buy the full size until I have used up the sample. Given the way I keep reaching for this gloss I suspect a full size won’t be far away.

So my darlings that is my world today. Back in the gym and a professional looming on the horizon to help me strategize my weight loss plan. All in all, not a bad monday.
