The Daily: May 25th, 2021

Good Afternoon my darlings. i am finally starting to feel like myself again. This morning allergies hit hard and the medicine needed to temper them made me a little floaty for a bit. That was not too bad, however this week at the gym I added one more set of reps to all of my exercises. I felt it was time. And it probably was. This morning however, I was really feeling the extra reps though. the soreness will pass of course, it always does. And then once i get used to this, I’ll change it up again. Apparently muscles get bored with repetition and you need to challenge them.Like a smart kid reading way above grade level.

Although I think with me my muscles are finally edging out of remedial lessons.

Either way, I was glad today was not a gym day. I managed a walk in the park, going a little earlier than usual to try and beat the heat and humidity. Several of my neighbors were doing the same actually. I think the general consensus was that we each needed to get in motion at leas half an hour earlier to better our attempts. Everyone leaving the park looked very soggy. While the temps aren’t that high the humidity is around 80% today. It sort of did everyone in. I ended up stripping in the laundry room to drop my clothes directly into the washer before moving to the shower. these were not the clothes ot add to the laundry basket. They went straight to the washer, did not pass go and did not collect two hundred dollars. Luckily I have a bunch of towels that also need washing this afternoon.

Today’s Look:

Foundation: Wet ‘n Wild Tinted Hydrator

  • wet ‘n wild has quite the sale going on, you can check it out on their Sale Page

Blush/bronzer/highlighter/powder: Pur 4-in-1 Face Palette

  • A lot of stuff from Pur’s Barbie Collaboration seem to be on sale, some at quite a discount. As I haven’t tried anything from the line I don’t know about the quality but you can find the Sale Here.

Eyeshadow: One/Size Patrick Starr Visionary Palette

Mascara: Wander Beauty Unlashed Mascara

Lips: Thrive Causemetics Lip Gloss in Ashley

To be honest if I wasn’t testing the Patrick Starr Palette then I would have just dusted a bit of the bronzer on my lids and gone with quick and simple. To quickly cover all of the other products, they worked beautifully. I thought the Tinted hydrator was going to be too light but it blended in really well providing a light coverage and a good look to the skin. I really like the 4-in 1 palette from Pure more and more each time I use it. I think it will be interesting to see how i feel about the blush as my skin shifts into a summer tan, but right now i really like it. I kept a light hand because I was just using a tinted moisturizer and I am very happy with the low key look I had going on. The Wander Beauty Unlashed always performs well and I like the Thrive gloss. It won’t last long, but it looks nice while it is around.

And then there was the Patrick Starr Palette. I went with the Bright Blue Mon Dieu, the black Turban Legend and the blue shimmer of Rebel gray. The Blue was patchy and hard to blend and the black was a little better than yesterday. It completely over powered the blue underneath. I thought it would be more vibrant but it isn’t. The blue is buildable but to be honest I am not a huge blue shadow fan and this didn’t convert me. I am however in love with the Steel Gray shade. It applied well, was quite pigmented and easy to work with. I’ glad it is the last shadow I tried as I can end my trial on a high note. I tried each and every shadow in here and will post a full review on Thursday, but it is an odd palette and I have very mixed feelings. I’ll work on sorting them out before Thursday.

As everyone knows Memorial day is fast approaching and nearly everyone has sales going. I’ve poste a few that have skated across my vision that you might want to look into. I’ll post them below.

The first one I came across was for Marc Jacobs. They are having a 50% off Sitewide sale. Their primers, their eyeshadows, their fantastic velvet noir mascara (a perennial favorite of mine) It’s the Editor’s Cut sale.

Benefit has a Pre-memorial Day Primer Party sale starting tomorrow : Score 40% off full-size The POREfessional Face Primer, The POREfessional: Hydrate Primer, and The POREfessional: Pearl Primer at benefitcosmetics.com. Offer is not valid on minis. Prices as marked, no code needed. Offer valid May 26 to May 27, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST, while supplies last. I love both the original and the Pearl. My skin isn’t dry enough to really like the hydrating primer but if you have dry skin,. that one might be worth looking into for you.

And if you are into Clean Beauty…

Alayka is also having a sale It is layered by how much you buy. They are a fantastic site to buy from if you are looking for clean beauty products. Personally, I love their Sample Kits because they are arranged by brand so if you wanted to try out several items from Lilah b or RMS beauty or Kosas to find out if they work for you before you purchase a full size you can. Their sale is graduated though:

Memorial Day Sale at Alyaka! Get 20% OFF on Orders over £450

Memorial Day Sale at Alyaka! Get 15% OFF on Orders over £250.

Memorial Day Sale at Alyaka! Get 10% Off on All Orders.
