Happy St. Patrick’s Day my darlings. May all the snakes be driven out of your yard. Unless you want them. Then I hope they aren’t. While there aren’t any major celebrations we are participating in we are having Corned beef and cabbage with potatoes, which is my family’s tradition. we never really did the parades and green beer. The beef has been corning in our fridge for a while and honestly I will very much enjoy not only eating it but clearing it out of the fridge. It is yummy, but it does take up a lot of space.
The trick is to remember my portion sizes. It is really hard when you know it is a treat you only get once a year. Because I am not corning beef more than once a year. I may make pastrami a few times a year, but corned beef is only in March.
Restraint will need to be exercised.
As it is St. Pats there are heaps of sales going on. I’ll link several of them at the bottom, for now we jump into the makeup.

Because I am testing out a new foundation I am swapping around my primers to see what works and how the foundation performs with each. While this foundation worked really well with the Tatcha formula, I don’t think the Ole Henriksen is the best pair for it. I think this foundation needs a more pore filling foundation under it. I was hoping that is tould pair well with the brightening primer but it isn’t the greatest. I love my banana bright, I just don’t think this is a great paring. Yesterday I didn’t really have an issue with streaks in the foundation due to the brush I used. Today I had to use the makeup sponge to smooth out the streaks. I think I might try the banana bright with this foundation and only use the makeup sponge to apply the foundation and see if that makes the paring a happier one. Because once I blended out the streaks I really liked the look of my skin.

Today I used the Cocoa Contour Palette from Too Faced. I don’t know if it is still available, but I love it. The packaging feels so luxe that I just feel special wearing it. It has also become a travel companion because of the mirror and the sturdiness of it. I like the palette when I need to blend shades at different times of the year. While Chocolate Soliel is my summer time favorite, at this time of year there is some blending to find the right shade. It is a great bronzer though.
I also love my Gold Rush Blush. I have other Benefit blushes that I like, but this is the one I always end up reaching for. It is also the one with the severe dip in the center of it. The shimmer wore off once the over spray was gone and it just left a nice slightly golden hued blush that works well for my skin. The Iconic illuminator drops I like but I am not in love with. I have several liquid highlighters and I realized I don’t reach for them. I am going to go through them and try to figure out the ones I will actually use and then clear out the ones that I know i won’t. I also need to go through regular highlighters so I may end up posting a mini declutter some point soon. This one is okay, but I’ll need to compare it before I decide if i am keeping it or not.
I chose the other worldly palette because of the green for St. Patrick’s day. To be honest, it is the reason I keep this palette. I love the green. The shadows don’t blend the best and over all the green and orange toned shimmers are the best in the palette. the others are okay, but those two are the winners.
Today was the first use of the Athr Beauty mascara. The first coat wasn’t very special but after applying a few coats it began to look nice. It is listed as a volumizing mascara but to me it feels more lengthening than volumizing. I’ll be playing with it but at the moment it looks like it needs a few coats before it looks how I want it to.
And finally the elf sheer slick, what can I say, I love it, I use it, I’ve repurchased it a couple of times. It is a good quick splash of tint with a vitamin E backer so my lips feel cared for. Easy to grab, easy to wear.
