Good morning my darlings and welcome to the end of the week. It is Friday and you know what that means. Yup, it is time to talk about skincare. There were a few changes this week. I finished up my cleanser and toner and rolled in new ones. I separated a couple of products and added a couple new ones in as well. While there are products I use more at night, at the moment it wasn’t a big enough difference to have a night time and a day time line up so I am going all in one line up this week and hopefully it will make sense. So without further ado, the line up for this past week
Makeup remover: Keys Soulcare Nourishing Cleansing Balm
Cleanser: Farmacy Whipped Greens Oil Free Foaming Cleanser
Toner: Georgette Klinger Rose Clarifying Toner
Serum: Depology Caviar Serum Stick (daytime)
Eyecream: JLO Beauty That Fresh Take Eye cream
Serum: Dermelect Empower Anti Wrinkle Treatment
Moisturizer: Saturday Skin Carrot + Niacinamide Moisturizing cream
Exfoliant: Saturday Skin Rub a dub Scrub
Lips: Buxom Powerful Lips Scrub in Dragon Fruit
Okay so let’s just start t the top and work our way down. The Key’s Soulcare cleansing balm is working well. I still love it and am a little more than halfway through the jar. I will happily be using it until the jar is empty. i will then put it on the repurchase list. In general I find Key’s soulcare to be okay but not super fabulous. This is the one super fabulous product i have tried from them.
The Farmacy Cleanser is new to me. I adore their cleansing balm but I have to confess I haven’t really tried much else from the brand. I have only had two days with this cleanser but thus far it is going well. It goes on like a cream and then foams when you add water. I like that style actually. it lets me use my Vanity Planet spinning cleansing brush easily. It is a little hard to get out of the tube though. I think it is just a very thick formula. It does mean I don’t need a lot to use the cleanser though, which is nice.
I was having trouble with the Jlo Beauty eye cream and the Depology overlapping. Using them together clogged pores. I split them so i am using the Depology in the morning and the JLO at night. This far this seems to be working. I don’t think either product on it’s own caused problems but together it was too much for my eye area. I am back to liking both products so hopefully that will continue.
I did bring in the Dermelect as a creamy serum. I have gone cautiously and thus far, nothing has had any problem. I waited until I was sure the Depology and JLO were settled before adding it in so it has only been a day or two that I have used it. So fare, so good. It is a good creamy serum that is very light weight. It isn’t too much with the moisturizer either.
I am still using the Carrot Moisturizer and it is still enough of a night time moisturizer that I don’t need a sleep mask and light enough of a day cream that I don’t need a separate day cream. It is proving to be a good moisturizer for this time of year actually. With the weather in a state of flux my skin is shifting its levels of oiliness. Thus far, no issues with the cream.
I am using the Saturday skin Scrub once a week and that seems to be the right level of exfoliation for me. I probably have about two weeks left of product and I will be sad to see it go as it is my favorite item from the brand. It is always good to find a brand’s Rock Stars. For Saturday Skin, this is it.
I have also rolled in the Buxom Lip Scrub. When applied it makes my lips white. As I roll them together the white disappears and the scrubby bits fade away. My lips are scrubbed and the product then acts as a lip mask over night. So I haven’t need an additional lip mask. Thus far it has been a really great little product to add.
Over all this has been a good skin week. The clogged pores have risen and been cleared away and over all my skin looks healthy and well balanced. Can I really ask for more? You know, without traveling back in time and stealing my skin from when i was twenty. And I’m not sure that would be advisable if i could. I mean if I stole my skin from there I would be missing it until I returned form stealing it in the future which would mean bad skin until now…oh dear, I seem to have talked myself into a space time conundrum. why don’t we skip that part and go with I am happy with my skin right now Yeah, that sounds better…much more sane…
