Good afternoon my darlings and welcome to May. I am feeling so much better today it is not even funny. I am sorry if i brought everyone down last week but that was just a miserable Spring cold. It was the kind of clod you can’t just sleep through but you still feel foggy. I spent most of the weekend as a lump. A binge watching lump. Thank you Paramount+. There were serial killers on Criminal Minds, treasure hunts on Blood and Treasure and amusement (with some murder) on So Help Me Todd.
Yes I do have other streaming sites, but it was just easier to switch between shows on the same site. It felt like too much effort actually.
Which sounds sad, but the lack of effort I used in my streaming paid off. I still have a little bit of the sniffles but the watery eyes and raspy throat are gone. i no longer feel like death warmed over.
I also got to use the last of the foundation samples that I planned to finish out least week. I had three to get rid of and this is the third. It feels so good to get them out of the drawer. I think it is partially because they have been in there a while. everything was just sort of resting on top of them. So I am pleased to have gotten through them. It feels like an accomplishment (even if it is a small one) and I am thrilled to take an accomplishment of any size on a Monday morning. It also feels like i am in control of May and expecting many more accomplishments. Not sure what they would be, but still, it is a great way to start the week and month. So lets jump into today’s look.

Today’s look
Primer: Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer
Foundation Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Bronzer: Trestique Stick Bronzer
Blush: Illamasqua Colour Veil
Eyeshadow: Viseart Neutral Matte Eyeshadow Palette and AOA Studios Jewels Venetian Romance creamy eyeshadow
Mascara: They’re Real Extreme Lengthening mascara from Benefit Cosmetics
Lips: Wet ‘n Wild Happy to be Me 10/10 lip gloss
As with all of the foundation samples I went with the same base face products. They are all products I know well and adore. I also leaned into the cream products because sometimes they can be problematic with foundations. They can peel the foundation up sometimes. These are good cream products so they don’t have issues on their own, so any issues would be with the foundation. I started with my favorite primer, Tatcha’s silk canvas. I am going to have to reorder soon as I am running out actually. I then went with the trestique Bronzer and the Illamasqua gel blusher. Both usually work well for me so I use them to test the foundation.

This Giorgio Armani foundation came through like a champ. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It looks fantastic and feels great on the skin. In fact, of the three I tried I think it might be my favorite. It sits well on the skin and blends in well. I did need to put four packets together so lord only knows what shade I created or which I would actually use. It is a luminous foundation, which is fine for me, but it does have enough of a glowy aspect that I would need to use a matte primer underneath. For me pairing it with a dewy primer would just be too much. If you like the dewy look then pairing this foundation with a dewy primer would workout for you. I just know it would be too much for me. I have had no issues with sinking into fine lines or creasing or peeling. It is a nice foundation.

With the eyes I again used the Viseart palette for the matte brown base and then I tested another of the AOA shimmers. This was a pink toned one. It went on well and easily blended with a dry brush. The only one I had any blending issues with was the color shift shade. All of the others are simply creamy eyeshadows that blend really well.
The shadow was light so I couldn’t resist using the lengthening mascara to show off the lashes. I do love my Benefit Mascaras. I think I only have this one until the end of May before I need to discard and replace, so I may be reaching for it often this month. I do hate leaving good product in the tube but with mascaras it is better safe than courting an eye infection.
Finally i topped the lips with the shimmery gloss from Wet ‘n Wild. What can I say, I do love this gloss. It looks good both on bare lips and over matte lipstick. It doesn’t feel sticky or overly slimy. And it looks good. I love the sort of blue purple-y shimmer actually.
And that my darlings is me today. I feel better today and am getting back into the normal rhythm. This was the last foundation sample I have in the drawer so even though I have enjoyed all of these products, I will be rotating others in because I won’t need to keep things standard for the test. I am kind of looking forward to that. Plus tomorrow is just me at the desk so I may get a little crazy with shadows. Just no glitter. I am still finding gold flakes from my last glitter choice. Once all of the residue is gone, I’ll try again, but for now, maybe some colors out of my ordinary. We shall see. But for now it is back to work. Have a great day my darlings.
