Can you believe we are entering the last week of July? I know in some ways it seems as though this summer has lasted forever and in others it has seemed like it has flashed by. The heat has made it just feel as though the days are dragging along without end. Yet somehow there is never enough time to get everything done.
I like to think it is because the heat makes me move slower.
I am pretty sure it is just because so many extra things have been happening. It seems like any time I start to find my footing this summer something has just sort of come along, looked at my schedule and laughed. For example tomorrow my babydoll is having dental surgery. He will be knocked completely out so I will be driving him to and from the dental visit and pharmacy. Which I don’t mind. I just though the surgery wasn’t until August. Which technically it was but they had a cancellation and asked if he wanted to move it up, which he did.
Hence the surprise.
I think the scheduling gremlins just saw I had a normal work week plotted out and decided that this was the best way to play with it.
So there is extra time in the office today. Also despite the brain boiling heat it is time to actually start thinking about the fall, back to school and soon enough I will have to write out my holiday shopping list. I try to at least get the list squared away when the dust settles from the back to school stuff. If I am really on my game then I will start picking up my Christmas gifts in the back to school sales and then use the black Friday/cyber Monday sales to knock out both the winter birthdays (there are a lot in my family) and whatever we need stocking up on for the rest of the winter season. (That way I can take advantage of the sales and get the items that need to be shipped out for Christmas ready well before they need to be shipped. I can also spread out the cost so my bank account isn’t attacked all at once which makes me feel better.)
I can already tell you, I am not going to be the early bird shopper this year. It is going to be one of those have the list ready for Black Friday/Cyber Monday kind of shopping years. I can feel it in my bones.
But at least I got up early enough this morning to get a walk in before the air turned swampy. I’m calling that a victory. Everyday should have at least one small victory and today, I am calling that mine.
The pictures look a little more shaded than usual as there isn’t much sun today. There is a thick bank of clouds. It feels like rain. It looks like rain and I think it really wants to rain and yet, I suspect that it is just a tease. I think we will have our humidity just below the tipping point for the rest of the day so that we get the high heat and the super hi humidity but no rain.
I did go for a lighter look today with the bare minerals works for. Even though I am in shade, the bare minerals is a hair too light for my skin at the moment. Which I actually find interesting. Almost all of my tinted moisturizers are in shades for the summer because I end to reach for them more in the summer time. It is just simply too hot to have foundation on. Plus I find that the tinted moisturizers tend to melt less in the heat, behaving more like moisturizers and less like a product that will make me look like a melted candle. This is actually a shade I can wear when my tan fades. I don’t actually have any winter tinted moisturizers so while I love using this now, I am looking forward to some winter wear with this bae minerals as well. It does wear well now though and I enjoyed it.
As always I love the elf poreless putty primer and the Illamasqua blush is one that I will always reach for. It blends in well and is good for both a natural look and something built up for more drama. I tap my finger on the product and that is all I need for each cheek so this little jar will last a really long time.
I am still getting a handle on the gel sculpt stick. It feels a little wet when applied which is an odd sensation. t is lighter than it looks in the stick and it applies more subtly than I thought it would. I thought it would be bold and dramatic. Instead it applies soft and can be built up. It also blends really well. It is proving really nice for a natural look. I’ll have to try breaking out an actual foundation to give it a try in a less natural look but for now it is working well for me.
My No 7 powder is almost gone. There is a large circle of pan in the center and just a ring of product left. I think I might keep it out this week just to use it up. I don’t think it will last longer than the week. It is a staple in my makeup drawer and has been for years. It is a good powder to finish out a look but it’s chief use is to blot out mid day shine. It does this beautifully and never looks powdery. I am a very big fan. Surprisingly I have very few compacts. I have a lot of loose powders but I just tend to repurchase this as my pressed powder. I may have to do a powder inventory to see what I have once this us used up. But it is one I have repurchased for years and will definitely pick up again.
The imethod brows is now my new standard. I love that stencil. Now that I have found my brow stencil I just put them on and go. It is quite fabulous and I will use this daily unless I am testing out another product.. Even then, the stencils will be used. This is the first time my bows actually look like each other and I am a fan.
Today with the eyeshadow palette I just went for the lighter pink in the palace identity palette. It was a one and done look. I like the pigmentation and it is a nice bas shade for an I don’t want to do much look. it is soft and just enough to make the look finished.
I love so many items from Eyeko. their eyeliners are the ones I always reach for when I wear eyeliner. This mascara is good, but it isn’t my favorite. I actually prefer the Lash Alert. I believe it is a tubing mascara so it is really easy to get dramatically long lashes with that one. This is a good every day mascara though it is just a little less dramatic. Which actually makes it perfect for todays look. And the toned down shadow actually makes it pop a little bit more. I like dramatic lashes, I just don’t like false lashes.
And finally there is the MAC lipstick. I love the formula of MAC Lipstick. It is comfortable to wear and it doesn’t dry me out. And this is a good neutral shade that worked today.
Over all I am pretty pleased with how things turned out. I feel good about how things turned out. Since I now have a handle on the Palace Identity palette I will be switching back to the Lunar Beauty palette, but it was i just couldn’t resist the pretty palette. Plus I needed to watch a few tutorials. So that is me today. It is just me working at my desk today and I will be working later than usual tonight as well. I am glad that today turned out to be a comfortable look I don’t mind wearing a little longer than usual. So now it is back to work for me. Have a great rest of Monday my darlings.
While not a review, I thought it might be of interest to you to see what I am putting in my travel makeup bag and why. During my daily makeup posts I tend to rotate through makeup, but when I travel I tend to pick reliable products that can fit into a small makeup bag, especially when it is a weekend trip. While this isn’t exactly a fun getaway, it is travel. The only thing I left out of the makeup bag is mascara. The reason is that this trip is for a memorial service and there will be many tears shed. At the moment I have yet to pick up a waterproof mascara so I am leaving my mascara behind and will either pick up a waterproof mascara at the drug store or go without.
When traveling I generally find it a good idea to stick to products that don’t spill and I try to reduce the possible breakage component by sticking to cream products so they feature heavily in this bag.
This time I am starting with the Kristopher Buckle Triplicity Foundation stick. It has traveled with me for quite some time. It is my old reliable. I’m still not certain of the status of the company. I know that the main website shut down after massive sales and now it is available at walmart. It is a fantastic foundation, I just don’t know if it will be replaced once it runs out. I may actually scoop up one more for travel purposes because it is really hard to beat this stick formula. Plus I don’t have to worry about foundation bottles breaking. But if the company has gone under I won’t stock up, I’ll just work on finding a new travel fave.
The primer I am taking with me is the Tatcha Silk canvas Primer. It is a fantastic pore filling primer that locks in my makeup for as long as I end up wearing it. As I have no idea how long I will be in makeup this weekend I thought it would be a good product to choose.
I didn’t bother with a highlighter, but you may notice a tiny round pot with a gold lid and a pink bow on it. I know, it looks like an eye cream, however it is actually a sample size of the Ciate London Extraordinary powder. It came in an IPSY bag a while back and to be honest, I have refilled it a couple of times. For a weekend it is all the powder I need. I will be adding the powder puff from the Kim Chi Powder to my makeup bag to use with it.
For eyeshadow I am taking The Balm and The Beautiful Palette from The Balm. It is the one I’ve been playing with recently. I really like the formulas and the ease of application and it is a compact size that fits in the bag. So since it was already out, I went ahead and added it to the makeup bag. I will have the full review of the palette up next week, I simply didn’t get a chance to finish it this week.
I added a Marcelle eyebrow pencil because I like it and it has a spoolie on the end so I don’t have to worry about adding secondary brow products (like a brush) into the bag. And then we have the lips.
I’ll be honest, i don’t think I have ever traveled with just one lip product in my life. To this bag I added my favorite MAC neutral in Bated Breath. I also added a Trestique lip crayon in case I wanted a slightly darker product. I added the Yensa Lip oil in case I felt like shine, or only a glossy lip with no lipstick and I chose an assortment of lip pencils. Some match the lip products others stand alone. For this bag I chose, UOMA, Persona Cosmetics, Bodyography, Huda Beauty and Real Her. I figure they are all relatively neutral and all have slightly different formulas. I plan to choose whichever one appeals at the right moment. And more than anything I like having a variety of lip products to choose from. Oddly enough in out of control situations it can sometimes make me feel like I am in control by making a decisive decision as to what lip product to wear. As it is a weekend where I can control nothing and can only deal with whatever happens, having that one tiny bit of control, really does help me mentally balance. Even if having seven lip products in the bag does seem a little extra.
Sometimes it isn’t abut what you actually wear.
And so that my darlings, is the makeup bag I will be traveling with this weekend and why I chose the products included.
Today has actually been quite nice. My work load is back down to normal levels. I had a decent amount of sleep last night and the world no longer looks like it is conspiring against me. That’s actually not a paranoia on my part, my neighbors on one side had a late night gathering and then another set of neighbors are repairing bits and pieces of their home to refresh it before putting it on the market. So it just feels like there is a constant upgrade in the level of neighborhood noise. Normally it is fine but when I am running on very little sleep thing I would normally ignore seem targeted to annoy me.
I know it has absolutely nothing to do with me. It is just my own lack of sleep irritability.
And while sleep and I often have issues finding each other, I really think the excess sugar over the weekend and the first part of the week had a lot to do with it. Once I realized it and cut the sugar back out, my sleep patterns began to get back to normal and I no longer felt that my neighbors were agents of evil sent here to destroy me. Which is a good thing as they are generally nice people.
A couple of kooks though. Like the guy who put up his own small windmill during lock down so that when the world collapsed he would still have air conditioning. I found it interesting that he wasn’t worried about food preservation or lights, just air conditioning. As though that was the one thing people were going to be forced to give up in the apocalypse.
I don’t actually talk to him much. I say hello to his wife periodically, but otherwise, I just steer clear. I’ll admit, I do kind of want to know about the air conditioning. Not enough to actually start a conversation, but it is something I think about.
Also when I say windmill, don’t think of the large scale wind farming ones, think mini golf. I think it has gnomes in front of it. His wife put them there so it would look less crazy. Doesn’t help. I keep trying to take a picture but haven’t been able to get one that isn’t rushed and blurry or when no one is around.
But that is completely off track. The point is I got sleep and feel fantastic. I also caught up on the work I was dragging on at the beginning of the week which feels even better.
And then I had something even better happen. A box from Yensa arrived on my doorstep. I talked to them about a sample of foundation for a trial and they sent a whole box of goodies. I finished up the last of my makeup removing oil yesterday so I am rotating in the CBD Cleansing oil immediately and the makeup products I will start trying out next week. If I hadn’t already done my makeup for the day I would have already started. I am so grateful to them for sending this over and i can’t wait to dive right in.
Okay today was mostly about trying out the forgotten ELF foundation. I used the same primer to give it a fair comparison, plus I love the Elf Poreless Primer so it isn’t a hardship to use it a gain. I think there are two reasons I pushed this to the back of the drawer. The first is that it is a really light shade. I am edging out of the time period in which I can use it actually. At least not without bronzer and powder correcting it. The second reason is that while it is a good foundation, I really prefer the formula of the Acne Fighting Foundation. This is nice, but the other is just a little bit better. At least for me. I think these are the two reasons that I haven’t been reaching for this. There is still plenty of product in the bottle and it smells of sunscreen so it hasn’t gone bad. But I am getting to tan already to wear it for much longer. Since it is still good I am going to put it back in the drawer and make a note to see how it is in the autumn when I start getting my cool weather products out again. If it is still good then I will use it. If not I will purge it and just stick with the Acne fighting formula in the future. And that is mostly just a shade thing.
The OFRA palette I took out today because I recalled that it had shimmers that I liked and I thought the green might be good for Easter. (I think it is too minty to go well with my fabulous dress from Ever Pretty, but it is a nice shadow. Incidentally Ever Pretty has a spectacular sale going on right now. There are so many deals right now there isn’t space to list them but here are the top two I saw. Which if you are planning a wedding can really help out. Their quality is fantastic and their measurements, at least for the plus sizes I’ve tried on, are spot on. they also have non wedding dresses, which is what I generally order. I like to get dressy when we go out. Which reminds me that I need to order a new black dress for going out since things are opening up again. But that is again a different story.)
The OFRA palette I don’t really reach for that often. I adore the highlighters and I really like the blush. I’m not terribly fond of the bronzer. It’s okay, and something I’ll use if I have the palette out, but it isn’t why I am reaching for this palette. (The highlights are why i reach for this palette, with blush and shimmers next). The shimmer shades are fantastic. My issue is with the mattes. They perform well. They are highly pigmented and blend easily.. My issue isn’t the performance. It is the shades I don’t care for. There are three mattes in the palette. One disappears on me and the other two look orange-y with my skin. I ended up modifying them with the bronzer to tone down the orange. I am not happy with the shadow look, but at least with hooded yes most people don’t see it. Plus I am working at my desk today and the monitor doesn’t judge.
It is a mix and Match palette, I just need to go to OFRA and order a couple of shadows to mix in that I like wearing. The shimmers are great though and I love them. I just don’t reach for it because i don’t like the mattes. Until I order replacement mattes, I might just pair it with the Storybook palette since I like their mattes. But I had forgotten hoe much I love their pink toned highlighter. The pink and gold highlighters are my favorite things in this palette. I have the gold highlighter in a single palette, I just need to pick up the pin one.
The Athr Beauty Mascara I like but I think today might be the final application. It takes so many coats of product ti achieve the look that the mascara ran out. It is nice but as I can get a better look with a drug store brand that will last six months and not a single month, I am not sure it is worth picking up again.
The Mac I love and will repurchase. I am also eyeing the Ruby shade from this line. I love MAC Lipsticks, always have. when I was first starting to wear non drug store makeup I would put a little money by each month just to buy a MAC lipstick for my collection. Then I would buy one shade and wear it everyday until it was gone. By then I was ready to buy another one. (I had very limited space at the time and generally kept only one of each type of product (One lipstick, one blush, one eyeshadow palette, one foundation – shades varied by season, etc). And even though things change, I still love MAC lipsticks.
So my darlings that is me today. A little scattered but I think I covered the basics. And some neighborhood gossip s well. Not that the windmill is gossip. And next week, we begin to try out some of the products Yensa sent. I can’t wait!.
Good afternoon my darlings. The temps are down, the sky is cloudy, but thus far no rain so I am throwing on a sweatshirt and walking. I got in one chilly walk this morning and plan another later this afternoon. This is the time of year where lip balm is never too far away from me. I have one on my desk and one in my pocket. The trick this time of year is to remember to take it out of my pocket before I do my laundry.
I lose more lip balms to the wash than any other way.
After about a month I’ll have it drilled into my brain that I need to remember to check the pockets. It’s just November that is a bit dicey. So I am using a combination of my least favorite lip balms and the lip balms that are already mostly used up as my pocket balms right now. That way it feels a bit like less of a loss if I forget.
This month is all about not forgetting things it seems. I thought I had most of my holiday shopping done and then I found there were a couple people I didn’t have as covered as I thought. Well, technically that isn’t entirely true. My babydoll said he had an idea and so I marked them off my list thinking he would take care of them and now it turns out his idea fell through. So they are back on my list. It’s not a big deal, actually. I was just feeling kind of pumped for working through most of my list before Black Friday rolled around.
I know that sounds strange, but I tend to purchase certain gifts early so there will be something mail out and then I tend to follow up with smaller things purchased later during the black Friday/cyber Monday sales. Those packages get mailed out later. It is kind of me hedging my bets with the post office. So everyone has one definite thing to open on Christmas , even if there is a delay.
It is a consequence of spending most of my life moving around the country. Not only do I have friends and family all over the place, but i am often far away at the Holidays. It is a strange system, but one I’ve developed over the years. But it does mean that this is now a week of shopping for me. The first packages need to be mailed out by the time I travel down to my mother’s at Thanksgiving this year. With the way the post office has been running I don’t want to take any chances.
Today I went super simple. I have work at my desk, my two walks and a quick run out to a local store so I didn’t want to take a lot of time. I haven’t used the banana bright primer in a while. I really like the way it gives a soft glow to the skin underneath the foundation. Actually because of it, I decided not to bother with highlighter today.
The Ciate Foundation is one of my favorite easy breezy foundations. I’m rotating it in and out right now because I want to see how long this tone suites me and if I will have to get a different shade for the winter. I use this foundation enough that I will actually keep two shades around if I need to. Thus far, this one shade is still working. While I will purchase a second shade, I would be thrilled to have only one that I need to keep year round.
The Trestique is kind of my in a hurry and I know it will look good bronzer. I reach for it a lot. I think I reach for it a lot more now because I know that this is the last of the non-refillable versions. Once I use this one up I will be picking up the refillable one so that I have less waste. I won’t waste the one i have but I like the thought that a refillable version is in my future.
The bareMinerals blush. How many more ways can I say that I love this formula? I apply it with my fingertip rather than with a brush, because it just works better that way. It blends in well and stays on all day. I really like the formual and will continue rotating it in.
Today I wanted a quick eye look (plus I am trying to remember to grab my single shadows more. This is the KVD shadow for a one and done look. I really like the color and the shadow is a great formual. The feathers mascara and Mac lip are also long time favorites.
What can I say, when time is short, I reach for the favorites that work well with no fuss. And really, these are products that simply work without a lot of fiddling about. Somedays, that is what you need. Today was that sort of day.
In what I’m certain is likely to become the October refrain, today’s walk was a quick dash between rainstorms followed by a bit of Youtube Yoga. At the moment I’m not following anyone specifically, otherwise I’d link it. I really do need to sit down and sort of think through some workouts as this seems to be cropping up often. At the moment I sort of look at the time and say, Oh I have fifteen minutes or oh only 12 minutes, perfect. I need to actually create play lists like ‘Arms’ or ‘Abs’ so I can focus a bit more.
Perhaps that will be a weekend goal.
For now I at least feel confident that I managed to move around enough to keep me from feeling twitchy while I work. Hopefully it will be enough to show up on the scale. But even if the numbers don’t move this week, I feel pretty good about the level of activity and my attention to calories. While I may have no idea what my snack from the Tokyo Treat Box had in it, everything else was well monitored. So I feel pretty good about that.
In fact, I just feel pretty good in general. And it is pretty good to feel good. So I am just going to hold on to that feeling.
I know, I’m still trying to use up the discontinued primer. Slowly but surely it is being used up. The link above will take you to the Urban Decay Primers, even though this one is discontinued, they have other primers and currently they ae on sale for 30% off.
The Revolution stick foundation I really like. I forget about it for long stretches, then use it and wonder how I could have actually forgotten about it. It is a great product, especially for travel. It is creamy and blends well. I also managed to get the perfect shade for me so at the moment this is my go to travel foundation.
I’ve actually been thinking about travel more lately as autumn sets in. I will be traveling for Thanksgiving this year so I’m having to put together a travel kit. My last travel was Christmas of 2019 I took apart my travel kit and used up open products so that they wouldn’t go to waste. Now I am actually having to think about all of the items going into the new bag. I’m also going to have to look at replacing my travel bag soon. I know, I keep promising myself that I will and then I forget about it when I am not traveling, and then when I am traveling I remind myself to do it once the traveling stops.
It is an endless cycle and one that I am going to break. I’ve actually been debating between the Navy Collection and the Gray red vacationer bag from Kusshi. I just like the look of them and the functionality of the bags. At the moment the vacationer bag with the organizer is on sale so that may end up deciding me as I really like their organizers as well. I ended up getting one of their limited edition animal print bags for my mom a few years back and she absolutely loves it. It has worn really well.
Not that i actually used my mom as a test case. She just needed a new makeup bag and I thought she would like this one. Which she does. I just got the added benefit of seeing it in action.
But speaking of travel, that is one of the thoughts that caused me to pull out the Ciate palette today. This is a little square palette with a hard plastic case. I like the hard case for traveling shadows. And these are both really nice shadows and a good general mix. The mattes are all in the brown and reddish brown category, but the shimmers are more varied so it can be used as an everyday kind of palette or the shimmers can be used to punch up the colors. I used dry brushes today but with wet brushes these shimmers really pop. It is definitely a good contender for this year’s travel palette.
Today for the setting spray I used the ABH Dewy set. While I like the way the cap locks into place I am not sure I would repurchase this. The mist is a bit heavy and the coconut scent is pretty strong. It works well, but between the spray and the scent, I think this is one product i will be using and not repurchasing.
And with that, it is back to work for me. I hope you are having a good Thursday as well my darlings, because I really do feel good in my skin today and I think that everyone should have that feeling as well. I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow with the weekly weigh in.
Good afternoon my darlings. Today, the rain has come. It came down in fits and spurts yesterday but I managed to get a short walk in between the showers. Today, there was no possibility of that happening. It rained steadily throughout the night and the pace the rain is holding now is likely to last throughout the rest of the day. Curtesy of the Tropical Storm Fred, of course.
There will be no walking.
I do however feel less paranoid about skipping the gym for the moment as yesterday they announced they were going to be shut down today for a deep clean. So first of all, I wouldn’t have been able to get to the gym anyway. Second I heard from a friend of mine who also goes to the gym that three trainers and a couple of members got sick.
So again, I feel less paranoid.
Today I will probably not go out at all anyway. Since we haven’t had rain for a while but have had a very high heat, the ground around here is baked to a solid brick. So we have lots of flash flooding as the water just rolls right off the ground instead of absorbing. Our area is riddled with creeks, most of which have now flooded their banks.
It’s a good day to stay home and work. Maybe I’ll break out my weights later when I need to move around for a bit. That’s one thing that no one tells you. Once you start working out and moving more in an effort to lose weight, your body gets used to the movement. When you suddenly don’t have the movement, you find yourself getting antsy if you sit for too long. Or at least I do. So hand weights, crunches on the yoga mat and maybe even a few jumping jacks and squats. Hopefully that will make up for the lack of movement throughout the day.
Today turned out to be a lot more glowy than I am used to. I feel very shiny actually. I saw the Vesca Primer (which came in August’s Boxy Charm Premium) and I realized I hadn’t tried it yet. So I decided today was the day for the first impression. I’ve actually never tried the brand before. In fact until it was featured in Boxycharm I had never heard of the brand and still know nothing about it.I dispensed the primer onto my hand and thought wow that’s bright. It has an iridescent sheen to it and wen applied, my skin was brightened and a little on the dewy side. It applies well and feels nice on the skin. It is a thinner formula and applies a bit like a water cream. I think that if I applied one of my regular foundations over it, I would have been fine, but I am using the Purlisse Radiant Glow this week.
Two radiant products are a bit much for me. I almost felt like I didn’t need a highlighter but I used a tiny smidge of the About Face anyway. Very little actually as I already felt very shiny.
The powder products helped bring down the shine a bit but in the future I think I will wear the Vesca under a matte foundation. I think there, it could give more depth to the matte. Likewise I will wear a matte primer under the Purlisse radiant glow.
Today was mostly about the eyes. Or more importantly the Norvina palette. Yesterday I used my regular brushes and with the intense pigment I felt like I was just splashing it all about. I felt very messy. Today I actually used only one brush. It was the LaRuce Tapered blending LR007. (I used a color switch to change colors)
The double oh seven worked well for me today. It blends well, but it is smaller than most of my other blending brushes. The smaller brush really helped me control the shadows and their placement. Aldo I dipped into the pan and tapped twice to shake off any loose pigment before lifting the brush to my eye. The double tap really helped me not coat the side of my nose with color as well. I kind of like how it turned out today. I was already feeling shiny so I stuck with mattes. I like how well they blended together. Over all I am quite pleased. I did have to slow down, use the smaller brush and double tap the brush before applying, but if I did, things went well. Perhaps if I possessed the skills of a MUA I would not need such tricks, but as my chosen art form involves words, I needed the assistance.
Today I opened the ABH Lash Brag Mascara. I wasn’t going to but when I went for my Wet ‘n Wild Big Poppa, the tube was so empty that it couldn’t be used. So I figured if another mascara was going in the bin, I could go ahead and open a new one. I will have to do a fallen mascara review. I was impressed with the Lash Brag actually. It went on easily, lifted, separated and lengthened well. It was dramatic enough to wear with the pigmented eyeshadow as well. Over all, I’m rather pleased with its first performance. It did quite well.
Today was an interesting mix for me. My face feels brighter and I have to resist the urge to blot my face with powder. I feel shiny and the urge is strong. However I did not pass many mirrors today so it was relatively easy to ignore. But now it is back to work for me. It is the day where the to do list looks longer than the hours available I am afraid. And so it is time to dive back in. I hope that whatever you are doing today, the rest of your day flows smoothly along.
Success! Well partially, at least as far as creative driving goes. Today i managed to get myself in gear early enough to beat the construction traffic and so it took only the normal amount of drive time to get to the gym. I am going to have to play around with the drive back though as it was a full forty-five minutes.
I know some of you are thinking that forty-five minutes is fantastic and that your drive anywhere takes longer, but when the drive usually takes eighteen minutes, the forty-five feels like a lot. But at least I managed one end of the drie successfully. And I got in my monday workout as planned.
As just the thought of walking outside sends sweat rolling down my spine, the walking trail isn’t really an option today.
I’m doing fairly good on my calories today. Lunch ended up being a tomato basil salad. It was going to have Mozzarella in it but after even a brief period outside I just couldn’t face dairy. I know those of you who know me well are gasping in shock. I am oh so fond of cheese of all varieties. But this is one of those days where lighter is better and anything heavier is going to come after the sun goes down. and even then, it is debatable. So it was tomato and basil salad with a few dashes of balsamic and a sprinkle of truffle salt. The slight eartiness in the salt makes if feel oddly more satisfying than without, even though it is really a very light touch. I don’t use a lot, because I am not using a lot of salt, but as odd as it sounds, that tiny little earthy note helps trick my brain into thinking that I just ate something much heartier than I did.
and I will take all the tricks i can get.
Before I get into today’s look, I just want to say, I am very happy with the way my skin looks today. I know that is an odd segway as I usually discuss skincare on Friday’s with the line up, but My Friday Face Mask was a Pore refining one from Go-To SkinCare (The Removalist). It is supposed to clear out pores. I felt very happy with it after using it Friday, but pore clearing masks are often best seen a few days after. I used the mask friday and then used a hyaluronic acid serum right after. The next day I used a light physical exfoliator (I tend to use them only once a month or so). And today I feel like my skin looks really nice. Which is the best look of all.
Today I went quick and easy with most of the products, choosing ones I know and love like PUR palette, Marc Jacobs Primer and Elf Foundation. The Billion Dollar Beauty Brow Cream is also very much growing on me. And you know I love The Feathers Mascara. The two things I wa testing today were the Beauty for Real eyeshadow palette and the ABH Setting spray.
With the palette, the mattes blended well but dropped a lot of excess powder everywhere and the shimmers needed a damp brush to really shine. I’ll be playing with it throughout the week but thus far i like the way it blends but I’m not so thrilled with the fall out. we’ll see how it works.
With regards to the setting spray. I have been using the ABH Dewy Set with the ABH setting powder. The powder is a little powdery so I wasn’t sure if the dewy spray was just offsetting the powderyness of the powder or if it was a kind of dewy I could live with when I didn’t need to tame down the powder. If that makes sense. Today I just used the powder in the PUR palette. It is a good powder that doesn’t need something to settle it down. While the ABH Dewy Spray does have a bit of a shine to it, it is more of a fresh faced look rather than an overly dewy wet kind of look.
While I like the spray and I don’t mind the dewiness, I think this spray is one that I will like even more when my skin enters it’s winter dry phase. Then matte products tend to make me look dry and a spray like this could come in handy. I like it now, but I think I will like it even more later. Which is a very good thing to know.
Over all I am very pleased with how my look turned out today. My hair is clipped up to keep me cool, but the earrings are a little bit of shine to make my Monday sparkle. Over all, not to shabby. Admittedly, I am mostly really happy with my skin at the moment, so I would probably be happy with most products today. Good skin days make most makeup an easy sell. Luckily most of the items I’ve sued enough before to know I like them even when my skin is acting up. I just like them better now.
Good Afternoon my darlings. or should I say, Happy Bastille day. I just received an Email from Klorane announcing the one Day Bastile Sale they have going on so I thought I’d let you know before I forget. The deal is listed below but this link will take you to the site.
Today has been a good day for me. I made my to do list and have been checking items off left and right. Unfortunately I left my walk to a little bit later than I should have and came home a sweaty mess. The temps may technically be down a bit but the humidity. Oh my darlings the humidity is what kills you.
I feel a bit like a dehydrated camel. I’ve gone through two of the Soda Stream bottles just trying to bring my hydration levels back to even. I also think that even though some of my walks have been earlier, I feel like combine with the garden I am just getting too much sun. I use sunscreen, but I still feel like it might be a bit much.
I think that this weekend I may look at some schedule shuffling so that I can make the time to go to the gym and use the treadmill there, even on my typically non-gym days, at least until the summer sun diminishes some. I know I mentioned thinking about doing that in early June but never got around to it. I am beginning to suspect i really should have moved on that then.
However today I get to wear one of my new pairs of earrings. I just got in three new pairs (and a ring) from Mariz Artisan Hand Crafted Jewelry. I felt like I deserved a little sparkle today so I went with the Odessa Earring. I love the way the earring looks and I love that it can be worn two ways. The earring comes in two pieces, the stud that goes through the lobe and the additional fan design. The fan design has two holes to put the stud through so it can be adjusted if you have big earlobes. To be honest, I never thought about different sized ear lobes before. But I love the earrings and they provided the perfect amount of bling for me today. And if I decide there is too much bling, I can take off the fan and just wear the stud. I’ve been going through my earrings lately and found I don’t actually have very many matching studs. I seem to have lost a lot of the matching sets. Perhaps they are hanging out somewhere with the missing socks that I can’t find.
Today is the last day of my Glam Glow Primer Trial. Tomorrow i will post the full review of it as well as start rotating other primers back into my routine. Over all I think it is a pretty decent primer, but I also think it is very much a summer primer. At least for me.
The Ciate London Foundation is an all year for me and just an easy pick. I actually went for easy today with the foundation, eyeshadow and face palette. All are items I love using. Today’s test was really the MAC Lipstick. I’ve been doing a sort of rolling evaluation and declutter and am trying to slowly whittle down several categories of product. I am actually getting rid of a couple of MAC lipsticks because the colors don’t suit me, but i really think I like this shade. it is a pretty nice neutral. And as I know I have several neutrals I am going to have no choice but to get rid of, I think I may keep this one. Plus i love the MAC formula. I always have. They were the first non-drugstore lipstick I ever bought and I have a huge weakness for them. Usually i only stick with the few whose shades I know I like, but lately both IPSY and Boxycharm have been sending MAC lippies. Several in shades that are unfortunately not for me. And so I will have to let a few go, even though it sort of pains me a bit.
Actually getting rid of most lipsticks pains me. I just love lip products. And I always think i can use a lip pencil to modify the color, or maybe layer the products to change the color. I’m always more of a work with it to make it better rather than purge sort of person when it comes to lips. Although given the state of my lip product drawer I may be reaching a point where an actual deep down declutter is necessary.
But happily, that is a thought to contemplate another day. For now, it is back to work for me. So Happy Bastille Day to one and all.
Good morning my darlings. I thought it was time to do a bit of a skin care line up. This week there are a lot of sample sizes so this will be a lot of first impressions. Some of the products lasted long enough to earn a full review, and those will be posted as individual reviews. I just wanted to go over what was in my line up,. When I add products I tend to stagger them so that I don’t start a whole new routine at the same time. Also, even though there are a lot of products in this line up, they aren’t used all at the same time. Some I use in the day, some at night, some I only use a few times a week. But lets get into it, shall we?
There are two makeup removers in this week’s line up. The first is the Klorane Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. The link will take you to the full review if you are interested. It is not only effective at gently removing eye makeup but even if it gets in your eyes it doesn’t sting and it doesn’t coat your contacts with an oily film that clouds your vision. I’m a big fan. I tend to use it on the eye makeup that doesn’t just come off with my wet Makeup Eraser. There aren’t a lot of products like that, so it takes a while to use u even a sample size. I will be picking up the full size when it runs out.
The Makeup remover oil I used this week was the MAC Cleanse off oil. It is in the regular formula. I really like it. What I tend to do is put it on a dry face full of makeup, rub it in to break down the makeup, then rinse it off and then go in with the wet Makeup Eraser to take off every little bit. Then if needed go back in with the Klorane. I know it seems like a lot, but it is sort of my system. I have about two to three uses left in the bottle and then the MAC will be no more. I like it and I wouldn’t mind using it again. I think I’m going to roll in the Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm to take its place when it is finished.
Once the makeup is removed I go in with a cleanser. My cleanser this week was the Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleansing Powder. And Oh my darlings, I am in love. Don’t let the name fool you. It may have a gentle exfoliant in it but the powder melts with a drop of water and rubbing your hands together productse foam. There is no grit whatsoever with this product.
The scent is light and clean. It is that slightly fruity, slightly floral category that many Asian based skin care products seem to have. I’ve noticed it in both Amore Pacific and Tatcha ones. Personally I can’t tell if it is a fruit or a flower or a combination of the two that produces the scent. I really like it and the scent is very light and fades quickly, but it is present. I usually like Amore Pacific products and this was no exception. This is definitely a product I will be picking up in a full size for a full on trial. I liked it for the two week’s I’ve used it and think I would be very happy using it over a longer period.
I can not say the same about my toner. This week (and actually for several weeks prior) I used the Youth to the People Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliant Power toner. I was excited because with the AHA’s I didn’t feel the need to roll in an AHA product to use the morning after I’ve used my retinol. I figured this had it covered. It may have, but I did not enjoy this toner. I’m sure the scent could probably be chalked up to the Kombucha but to my nose it kept smelling like rubbing alcohol and I just didn’t like that.
It also made my skin feel very sticky. It was not a feeling I cared for in a toner. I reached the end of the bottle yesterday so this morning I rolled in my Akar Balancing Toning mist to replace it. I used a sample of the Akar and liked t enough to pick up a full size so this is the full size. After a month of use I’ll post a full review. The Youth to the people Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliant Power toner I will not be picking up in a full size.
For the past few weeks I’ve been using an essence in my daily routine. I used the Real Ferment Micro Essence Neo Gen Dermalogy. There is still enough product in the bottle that I might be able to use it another week, if so it will have given me five full weeks of use so there will be a full review soon. If you are wondering what an essence is then let me simply explain.
An essence is a product that opens your pores and makes them more receptive to accepting the skin care products that follow. I will be using this product until it is gone. I will probably pick up a full size but it might be a while as I want to try out other essences as well. This was my first so I want more of a sampling to compare it to before I make that decision. Previously I was using it before my toner, but I really didn’t like the feel of that particular toner so I sort of used the essence to take it away. I know, not the best, but that is why the toner is not returning.
In case you ae wondering about order. I was always taught to go lightest to heaviest with products. So I tend to go with Serum, eye cream, moisturizer. On the nights when I use retinol, I don’t use my serum and use it in place of it, but i follow with facial oil for extra moisture and then later go in with a night cream just before bed. The mornings after I use retinol i use an AHA product. The AHA products sweep away all the dead skin cells the retinol evicted the night before.
My serum in this line up was the Skyn Iceland Icelandic Youth Serum with Red Algae and I can unequivocally say I will be picking up a full size of this product. My skin reacted really well to it and I loved the way it made my skin feel. The sample was tantalizingly tiny though. I managed a little over a week with it, mostly because I was also using a retinol.
The Retinol I used was the La Roche Posay B3 Retinol Serum. It too was a tantalizingly small sample but I really enjoyed using it. It is another product i will definitely be picking up in the full size. My skin was clear and smooth (with one exception which I’ll cover in a bit) the entire time I used this. I know it was also a combination of products, but I think this did play a role. I only used the retinol twice a week because I am spending a lot more time in the sun. I am getting my garden ready for spring and retinol do make the skin a little more sensitive. I also need to look at getting a gardening hat actually.
This wasn’t too sensitizing actually. I had no redness appear after spending time in the sun, but as I’ve spent the winter indoors and am likely to burn now in any event I like to be careful. After the spring sun burn last year that took me down, I am being extra careful. The tube was emptied and completely flattened in my last ues so I will be rotating a full size of the Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum. Truthfully I went to pick up the Lo Roche Posay from my local Target when I went figuring I might as well just roll the sample into a full sized trial, but they were out. And then I saw the Versed bottle and bought it. I like Versed products so we will see how it does. I will be purchasing a full sized version of the La Roche Posay however.
I like to wear oil after my retinol to ensure moisture is locked in and this week I used the last of my Malin+Goetz Recovery Oil. I think this is either my second or third bottle. I also have a spare in my skin care drawer so I will clearly be using it again. I really like it. I will be trying out another oil this coming week though as I have several samples sent in subscription boxes that I want to try. I will be rotating in the Earth Harbor Marina Biome Brightening oil into the line up.
One product that I have to say I am getting rid of even though there is product left in the tube is the Avant Pro Radiance Brightening Eye Final Touch. I’ve been using it a while and to be honest I just don’t like it. I like several Avant Products, but this is not one of them. Under my eyes I ended up getting a lot more clogged pores. While I am used to a few here and there, they were mostly gone before I started using this eye cream and now they have all multiplied. Even though there is product left, I am done with it and will rotate in a Perricone MD Eye cream tonight to take its place.
I also did not like my moisturizer. It too was from Youth to The People. I’ve liked YTTP moisturizers in the past but this one just didn’t work for me. It was the Youth to the People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream. It was not only not as moisturizing as I like but it took a really long time to absorb in. It was a lot of wait for very little pay off. I will not be picking up a full size for a full scale trial and am happy to see it go. The jar is now empty and I think I am going to rotate in the 111Skin Y Theorem Day cream. I tried a sample and really liked it so now it is time to see what the full size can do.
My night Cream was Dr. botanicals Pomegranate Sleeping Mask. It is a much larger product than the others but i don’t think it is a full size. I will use the last of it and I think that I will reach for a full size in the future. The scent is light and fades away almost immediately. It is a thick gream and I used it every other night. On those nights I used it to replace my moisturizer. I actually liked it more than the moisturizer so that wasn’t a problem. I still have a few more days, possibly even a week before it runs out so I will be finishing it up. The cream is the sort that needs to be warmed up in the hands before applying it to the face. Even then there will be some white streaks, but they absorb in with very little rubbing, which I like. I think that I would pick up a full sized tube of this in the future. it is a good basic night mask. It provides moisture and in the dry winter that is a good thing. It doesn’t have any real anti aging properties which i am leaning towards more and more, but it is an excellent moisturizer.
I know this has gotten really long but we are almost done.
I like a lip scrub and a lip moisturizer on my lips before bed. I used the Milk Makeup Kush Lip Scrub and Milk Makeup Kush Lip Glaze in this line up. I am almost out of scrub and will use it until it is gone. I am likewise almost out of the lip glaze. Both will be used until they are gone and be repurchased. This link will take you to my full review.
And finally for my neck I used the Dermelect Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum. I’ve used it before, I will use it again and thus far it is the best product I have found to help eliminate the loose chicken skin on my neck I am very please with it and foresee multiple purchases in the future.
This week’s post was a little long because I had so many sample sizes I wanted to do a first impressions of. I am sorry for the length. Hopefully next weeks will be more manageable. Over all there were plenty of wins and a few losses. In general it wasn’t a bad week and it will be interesting to see how things change as I start rolling new products in. That is always the really interesting part,
This week I wanted to test one of the sample sized foundations I picked up in my summer shade. It was the Yensa BC Foundation. It is full coverage and is formulated as a mix of BB cream and CC Cream. I really enjoyed using it this week. While I will be keeping the remainder of the tube in my collection until I use it up, I will eventually end up purchasing a full size. It gave me excellent coverage without being cakey and it didn’t settle into my fine lines throughout the day.
To be honest, I am not as enthused by the primer I used with it. I thought about using the Yensa primer, which I absolutely love as I thought it would pair well with the foundation (which it did actually, there was one day where I tested the two together and they are a winning combo), however I am trying to work through my sample sizes so that they don’t pile up and expire before I can try them and so that I can decide what full sized products I want to add to my dressing table in the future.
So the sample sized primer I pulled was the Too Faced Hangover Rx Replenishing face primer. I can’t decide if I don’t like it or if I just didn’t like it with this foundation. The primer smells like coconut, which is not my favorite, but it isn’t strong enough to be a major issue. It is white and massages into the skin like a moisturizer. It is very hydrating, but to be honest I didn’t notice much of a difference when I wore it under my foundation and when I wore the foundation with no primer. By contrast when I wore the Yensa primer underneath, it enhanced the foundation.
I think I might like it better with a foundation that feels more drying on the skin as I suspect that this is either designed for those with dry skin or who are using a foundation that tends to dry them out. While I have foundations that occasionally crease towards the end of the day I don’t really have any that leave my skin feeling dry. What I might do is try this again in the winter time and see if I like it better when my skin is dryer. I think the issue is that it is just not really designed for my skin type. So at the moment, it will return to the dressing table for a later week long test but as of now I don’t think I will be picking up a full sized version of this primer as much as I tend to love Too Faced Products.
By contrast I brought out the Kristofer Buckle translucent loose setting powder to use again. This is its second time in my makeup bag. I picked this powder up as part of the Vanity Collection Kits that are offered on the Kristofer Buckle site.
I chose it because I wanted to test out the Triplicity Foundation Stick and because I absolutely adore the formula of the Cashmere Slip Lipstick. The shade Bardot is the lipstick I grab before any other one in my collection. Don’t get me wrong there are others I really love, but it is just such an excellently wearable formula. But that isn’t the point. The point is I picked up the kit and the powder was in it. Incidentally, I highly recommend the kits. All of the products are full sized and it is a really affordable way to try out multiple products from the brand. And they are having a BOGO sale on the kits so it is a good time to stock up.
When I tested the products I more or less had a Kristofer Buckle themed Makeup bag that week. I knew I loved the lipsticks and I absolutely fell in love with the Triplicity foundation stick and because of this I think the powder got shorted. I remember thinking ‘it’s a good powder, but wow that foundation.’
Sometimes I get focused on one thing and let others slide. This week I used the powder in my bag. I was not distracted by the other Kristofer Buckle products. I have to say I found it better this time than I did the first. It is very finely milled, sits well on the skin and does not cause a white cast in photos. It also has zero scent. After a couple of months of coconut scented powder (which I liked, it was a good powder) it was really nice to have a powder that has no scent. The little powder puff that comes with the powder is completely useless. I used a powder brush and my Huda Beauty makeup sponge instead, but it is a much better powder than I remembered from my first use and I was happy to use it this week and I will be happy to keep it in rotation.
With powders I like to keep one pressed powder and one loose powder. This week my pressed powder was the No. 7 Perfect Light pressed powder. It is one of my go to powders. I will often wear it simply over primer to control shine and it is the compact I reach for when I need to powder my nose mid day. As I didn’t need to powder my nose this week beyond what I put on in the morning, I did not get to use this all that much. I’m going to be keeping it in the makeup bag this week. Also I think it will work well with the foundation product I plan to use this week. No. 7 is also having a sale at the moment 20% Off When You Spend $79 with code 20OFF. The sale runs through September 13th.
This week I pulled the Revolution Fast Base Concealer to use. Because the foundation did not require any extra assistance, I ended up using it solely as an eyelid primer. It worked well even though the shadows had a tendency to fade throughout the day. It gave me a smooth, even toned base from which to start building my shadow looks.
Speaking of shadows, I used the Ciate London New England Palette this week. The link will take you to the full review. It is a bit mixed. The pigments are more buildable than intense and if you want the shimmers to brighten you have to use a damp brush. With a damp brush the shimmers and metallics are spectacular. The look just has a tendency to fade to nothing after about six hours.
For my bronzer this week I took out my Space Case Fakeation on Mars Bronzer. It Is one of those products that I tend to forget that I have. The case is dark blue and tends to fade into the shadows of the drawer.
The product itself is quite nice. It is a buildable formula rather than an intensely pigmented one so if you are worried about applying too much bronzer and making your face look dirty then this might be an option for you to look into. I really like it because I can decide just how dramatic I want to be. I am also glad I found it now as it is one of those bronzers that really helps when your skin is going through seasonal tonal changes.
It is great for darkening a slightly too light foundation without making your face look like it is overly powdered. (I’m sure there is another term for that, but you know what I mean). I really like this when I am too light to still use my summer shades but not yet pale enough for some of my winter ones. If used when the foundation isn’t quite dry it really blends in nicely to help adjust the shade.
This week’s blush is one that came in a subscription box at some point, but I can’t remember which one. I also forgot I had it. I think what happened was that it came in and was a smaller size so when I put it with the other blushes it was over shadowed. I don’t think I used it before this week.. It was the Mannakadar Buildable Blush in Bali Babe. I would say that it is more bendable than buildable. It is an intense pigment that does blend out well. It does not go on light. That being said, I did like it. Is it my favorite blush? No, and truthfully I probably won’t buy a full sized version. I will however use this until it is gone. It falls into that good but not spectacular range.
One product that always falls into the spectacular range is the Ofra Glazed doughnut highlighter. It is simply stunning. It applies bright but blends beautifully to a soft glow. This is a product I will use down to pan and then instantly replace. Normally I go for more gold toned highlighters, but this just blends so beautifully I am willing to lean towards silver.
I had two eyeliners in my Makeup bag this week. One was the Hank and Henry Blickity Black and the other was the Milk Makeup Gel liner. The Milk gel Liner is in a champagne nude type color (I couldn’t find the color on the liner) and it goes on creamy and smooth. I used it in my water line. It is more subtle than a white liner and gives a softer look. I am a big fan of the formula and will be seeking out other colors to add to my collection.
The Hank and Henry, not so much. The liner which is a calligraphy pen style, has the tendency to skip instead of giving a smooth line. It also bled a little into my fine lines, not a lot, just enough that I noticed when I was applying it. While it stayed in place once it was on the lids, it tended to fade a little towards the end of the day, getting a kind of off black color by the time I went to take off my makeup. The final issue was that I had to kind of wait between eyes. I would get one done and notice it was skipping more the monger I used it so I would have to cap it and let it rest before doing the other eye. I was not a fan.
I am still a fan of the Bad Gal Bang mascara from Benefit, which was my mascara this week. I think there is enough product for one , maybe two more weeks in the tube so back into the dressing table it goes, but it is with a pang of loss that I sent it away. I really like this mascara. The other Benefit mascaras are good and I enjoy using them, however this is my favorite.
And yes I realize I am sort of hoarding it a little bit but not just going ahead and using it up, but I have several opened mascaras to finish up as well as several unopened mascaras I want to try so once I finish this trial size I am not allowing myself to buy the fill sized version until I clear out a little more space in my mascara section. So I am holding on to this as long as I can so that when I do finish it I can justify purchasing the full one. Don’t worry, it will still get used up within the six month deadline, I just want to hold on to it a little longer.
For my brows this week I kept the Hourglass brow pencil around for defining the bottom of the arch, but mostly used a tinted eyebrow gel. I have several but I somehow never think to reach for them. This one is the Soap and Glory Archery Volu-boost brow fiber gel. It’s the shade Talk of the Brown, in case you are curious. I really enjoyed using it. It didn’t make my brows crispy or look plastered on (I really hate when bows are so insanely defined and plastered against the skin by gel that they look painted on. I think it makes people look like cartoon characters. I am really happy that it looks like fluffy, natural looking eyebrows are trending. While this did help me tame and define my eyebrows it didn’t give me cartoon brows so I was happy. I really think having the eyebrow pencil to define the bottom helped and I like the Hourglass brow pencil formula.
Finally we come to the lips. This week I had three options in my Makeup bag. The first was a MAC Bullet style lipstick. It is in the shade mocha. I always think of mocha as a brown shade but this read more pinky neutral on the lips this week. It was just as creamy and lovely to wear as I remember Mac lipsticks being and the shade went well with the pinkier tones of the eyeshadow palette without overwhelming them.
The trestique also went well with the brighter shades, blending but not competing with the eyes. I chose one of the lips from the Mini Matte Lip Collection, the Florence Fig to try out this week. Again it is a neutrally pink, although slightly darker than the Mac.
I really love the formula of the Trestique lip products. They are creamy and non drying and they last a really long time. They need touching up after lunch, as do most traditional lipstick formulas but over all it lasts quite well. I now have the set of mattes and the sheer glosses in the Trestique Minis and to be honest I am thinking of just putting them all in a jar and leaving them in the bathroom with my skin care so that they are on hand to reach for.
I’ve actually had really good luck with the trestique formulas in general. Their Bronzing stick is one of my favorites. They are another brand where I almost have enough products to do a full face of just the brand. I’ll have to take an inventory and see what I am missing and possibly do a full face make up bag one week.
The third lipstick product that was in my bag this week was the Clarins Velvet Lip Perfector. I have to say I was very much looking forward to testing this out. I’ve used several skin care products from Carins and I really liked the Lip water stain I tried. However I did not use it this week. I tested it out but the eye shadow palette tended to skew more pink tones and this was just a bit too red so it looked off. I will be bringing it back this week and this week it will be used. I am actually selecting my eyeshadow palette around this lip product. Next week will be it’s time to shine.
This is both a setting spray and skin care. I posted a seperate post about this spray yesterday (the link above will take you directly to it). Because it is skin care and I do like to give skincare at least 30 to see if it works (as it generally takes that long to show any changes) this setting spray will be in my bag for at least the next month. Trust me that is no hardship. In addition to the skin care benefits which will bc covered at the end of the month long trial, it is a really good setting spray. In addition it’s cucumber scent makes me feel like i just left a spa. I know it is just the scent but it is really nice and extra refreshing. So I will be using it in my makeup bag as I do my full trial. Then I’ll start rotating other setting sprays in.
And that concludes this week’s make up bag. Next week I will be using the QMS tinted moisturizer. From what I have heard, it is very light coverage so I will probably be going more natural with my look in the coming week. Which is fine with me. It is still very hot here and I have no real plans to leave the house so easy and breezy suits me just fine.
