The Skincare Lineup: October 28th, 2022

Last week I had a full line up of the Eight Saint’s discovery kit. There were a few products in there that i liked enough to try out in the full size and at the beginning of the week I used up the last of the products in the containers and rolled in this week’s line up. When I can I like to roll in a product at a time rather than start all new products on the exact same day. I find it keeps my skin from freaking out over too much change and it also helps me know which product or interaction between products is causing any issues if they arise.

So some of these products have had a few more days in the line up than others. In fact last night was my first night with both the eye cream and the night time moisturizer. The eye cream I have had before but the night cream is completely new. still, let’s dive into the line up, shall we?

Cleanser: Glam Glow Supercleanse Clearing Cream to Foam Cleanser

Exfoliator: Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

Toner: Elemis Superfood Fruit Vinegar Liquid Glow

Serum: Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

Eye cream: MZ skin Eye cream

Moisturizer: Tatcha The Dewy Skin cream

Night Time Moisturizer: Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair

Lip Mask: Tatcha Kissu lip mask

While I did a first use review on this cleanser, after a few days I am noticing some effects that I think are based on it’s use. This is a clearing cleanser and has a lot in common with the clearing masks from Glamglow. As I am using it, I am noticing that there are clogged pores being brought to the surface. As some of them are quite deep and I have been trying to bring up for a while, I am quite pleased by this development. I liked the cleanser just for the clean it gave my skin, but I really like this aspect of it.

It is also why I have rolled in the Exfolikate from Kate Somerville. I did a first use of this but then I set it aside as the Eight Saints had an Exfoliator in the kit and I wanted to see how it worked. Now I will be rolling this back in for regular use and I am hoping it works well with the cleanser to clear away some of my deeply clogged pores. It is in the line up, but first use back in the line up will be tonight.

Elemis is one of my favorite brands. Every product I have tried from them has worked well for my skin and I have never had any adverse effects. I am always willing to try another of their products. Mostly because I am positive it will not break me out. This toner has a scent that is like apricot with a vinegar back to it. Given the name that makes a lot of sense. It is a good toner and I really like the dispenser for it. Just remember to put the cotton pad, or reusable round over the the hole in the top before pressing down or the toner will fountain up. I find one pump is all I actually need for the amount of product I need on my face so I imagine I will get a lot of use out of this bottle.

The Ole Henriksen I used for the first time this morning as I was finishing out the serum from Eight Saints. One pump was more than enough to cover my face and neck. This Vitamin C serum absorbs quickly with no stickiness and it is quite a lovely glass bottle on top of that. I think I am really going to get a good use out if this. I think i might roll in a collagen serum to pair with this as well, but thus far, I like it.

This MZ Skin Eye cream I have used before. I received it in a subscription box, tried it, liked it and then set it aside for some reason. I can’t remember what. Since it was open I rolled it back into the line up to use up. This far I am liking it. It is a thick cream. I think it is a little over priced, but I do like that it is a thick cream that absorbs well and quickly into the skin. Who knows, with regular use I may see that it is worth its rather large price tag. For now I am happy using it.

My moisturizer is currently a deluxe sample of the Tatcha Dewy skin. I know and love the Water cream. I have tried the Dewy Skin cream and for most of the year it is too much moisture for my skin. (I am normal to combo skin wise). the Tatcha Water Cream is great for me, but in the winter I find I can only use it during the day and at night it is not enough. With the weather cooling down and the heat clicking on more and more often, this is proving to be a good daytime moisturizer for me right now. The scent is a little strong, but it is a scent I like so I don’t mind. It is the same scent as The Silk Canvas Primer actually. My only issue right now is that it does take a little while to absorb into the skin. I generally find myself finishing with the moisturizer and then letting it settle with a cup or two of coffee before i attempt to put my makeup over it. It is a moisturizer that on me at least needs time to settle in.

I had only one use of this Indigo cream thus far but I do like it. It is fragrance free so if you have issues with scent this might be something to look into. It is a thick cream, but oddly it absorbs faster than the Dewy Cream. I had no issues with it absorbing, My skin drank it in and this morning I was pleased with how soft my skin felt. It was a first use, so my skin could have been just extra dry for the night, but I have no problem continuing to use it and see how it works over time. while this is a deluxe sample, I do have a second deluxe sample that I might just roll into use right after this one. It will clear out some samples and give me a better idea of how the night cream works.

Also I am using the Tatcha samples now so I can get a better feel for them before I dive into their skincare kits. They have several that are available throughout the year, but there are more kits coming for the holidays so I am trying to decide which products I would really like to look at purchasing in the full size.

And finally we round out the line up with another Tatcha product. That’s right, it is the lip mask. I love this lip mask and while in the warmer months I will occasionally skip lip treatments at night, I find using a mask like this every night helps prevent the winter chapped lips. For me this is important because in general I tend to find that i will pick at my lips once they get dry. I don’t do it intentionally, it is something I do when i am working on something else and not thinking. It causes a lot of trouble. So it is is much better for me if they never reach that chapped stage. It is why the nightly lip mask from now until Easter is a key facet of my skincare regimen.

And so my darlings that is me today. Or this week technically. All of these products will be with me going into next week (and beyond actually as they are just started)I am actually quite pleased with how all of them are performing actually so i have no problems continuing to use them. And tonight I will roll the Exfoliator into the routine on a regular basis. And so on we go. Have a great Friday everyone.

The Skincare Lineup: July 29th, 2022

Good morning my darlings, it is time for my favorite post of the week, the skincare post. while I do like doing the individual reviews of items there is just something I really enjoy about talking about the products when they are in motion. Or maybe it’s because I get to talk about a lot of them at once in a way that would make anyone I was actually talking to who didn’t love skin care glaze over and not politely while looking for exits. Regardless, it is my favorite post. So let’s dive in.

Cleanser: Tatcha Soft Cream Cleanser

Toner: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner

EyeCream: Verso Eye Cream Extra Nourish #5

Daytime Serum: Sulwhasoo First Care

Night Serum: Kiehl’s Retinol Fast Release Wrinkle reducing Night Serum.

Moisturizer: Augustinus Bader The Light Cream

Lip Mask: Tatcha kissu Lip mask

Okay last week I was working with some sample sized products. Some of them ran out and were replaced, others hung on for just one more week. The Tatcha Cleanser sample had enough for two weeks worth of night and day cleaning. I really like this cleanser so I was happy to use it for another week. The tube is alas empty now so I am am a little sad. But I know I will pick it up again. This isn’t my first go round with this cleanser and it won’t me my last. what I love about it, is that it is a slightly thicker consistency. I can wet my face then apply the cleanser to the skin like a really thick moisturizer. I can see exactly where the cleanser is so I know all of my skin is covered. Plus with the thicker consistency less product is needed so the product’s use can be extended. Then water is added, the cleanser massaged into lather and rinsed away. The clean is fantastic and my skin feels nourished as well as cleaned and not stripped. It is a really good cleanser and I have to say I really like the light scent of it. It is the scent of Tatcha skincare. Their primers too have it. I am not entirely certain what that scent is, but all their products seem to have it so I think of it as the Tatcha scent. It is light though so it isn’t overpowering.

This week’s toner is new. I thought I had another sample sized toner in my collection, but if I do, I couldn’t find it. As toners aren’t often sent in most subscriptions (the way cleansers are, I have a boatload of those to work through actually) so they don’t accumulate as fast. Admittedly now that I have said this, I will probably receive a host of toners. It seems to go that way doesn’t it? I was excited to try this toner actually. There are a few products from First Aid Beauty that I absolutely love (Like their Ultra Repair Moisturizer, which was perfect for winter dry skin, hydrating but non-pore clogging). While this is from the same Ultra repair line that has done well for me in the past, especially in the winter, I have also never had an oat based toner before. Most of the toners I tend to lean into are Witch Hazel based. I have more or less always used them and so I gravitate towards what I know. I was surprised to find this was a white liquid.

I know I shouldn’t be surprised it is after all made with oats, but it did take me by surprise. I was very impressed with how it performed though. Oat based products are very soothing on the skin and this is no different. I did have a l few stress related blemishes I was taking down this week and this really did help the reddened irritations surrounding hem to be less irritated without drying out the skin. I really liked it this week and am looking forward to using it longer.

The Verso Eye Cream was new to me as well. It is a sample. This was it’s first week of use but as the sample tube wasn’t very full it looks quite spent. There is enough product to get me through a second week, mostly because when you use eye cream you use so little of it. I have never tried a Verso product I didn’t like and this was no exception. It is a great product. I just wish there was more in the tube so I could use it longer. It is fast absorbing, not greasy, plumps the fine lines and doesn’t clog the pores, what more could i ask besides more product in the tube?

the Sulwhasoo First care looks like it will stain but it won’t the color disappears

The Sulwhasoo First Care Serum is in a sample size that too has now been emptied. It is not the first time I have used this serum and not the last. It is a great serum and I have used several samples as well as a full sized bottle. The full sized bottle is really pretty too actually. I know looks don’t matter, but the serum inside is fantastic so i don’t mind that I like the look of the bottle. It also fits really well in the hand and I enjoy picking it up. So that is a little extra benefit. The serum can look a little odd at first, It is a golden color that looks like it might darken the skin, but it doesn’t it absorbs fast leaving no tint behind.

The Keihl’s night serum is doing well also. It is a full sized bottle so it will be around a bit longer. It is a good retinol and it hasn’t productid any sun sensitivity. Usually in the summertime, even though I use retinol type products at night, they can make me sun sensitive the following day. So in the summer time i tend to switch to bakuchiol products since they are retinol like but don’t have the same sun sensitivity. I like them because of that, but I always find I get better results with a retinol. So I am pleased this one hasn’t cause issues this summer. And if it hasn’t caused issues this summer I think I am in the clear.

The Augustine Bader was sent to me by Influenster. I have had issues with the Rich cream so i tested this on my arm for three days before moving to my face. I had no issues with it. The cream is a light weight water cream and is great for day time use. I noticed last week that I thought I was going to have to roll in a night mask a few nights a week. I didn’t get around to it, and I will definitely be adding one in this week. This is a good day cream, but it just isn’t enough for night time use without a back up every couple of days. The tube kind of drives me a little batty though. I looks cool but it get knocked over really easily and it can only stand one way, upside down. the bottom is rounded. I don’t think i would mind as much if the writing was swapped around, but because I don’t think about it, especially in the morning, I tend to first try to put it down with the writing facing up which doesn’t work. I do like the shape and the pump. If it was a little wider in the base for stability or maybe a little shorter it would not get knocked over so easily but that is a packaging issue. The product itself is a really good day cream.

Which brings us to the Kissu Mask from Tatcha. What can I say, I love it. I only need a light swipe of product to hydrate my lips and keep them healthy and so this little jar will last a really long time. I also plan to use every drop of it so you will be hearing about it for a while. It is great to absorb in over night, but a lighter coat in the morning will help the lips hydrate before lipstick is added. If you have a drier lip product whose color you like, it is a great trick to help out your lips. Apply a thin coat of the mask about fifteen minutes before you apply your lip products. Most will absorb in but wipe off the last of what remains and then apply the lip product. It lets the lippies dry down as intended but keeps your lips from drying out.

But that is me for the week. The emptied sample sizes will be replaced. I am not sure if they will be replaced by full sized products or sample ones this time around. I was looking at my cleansers and while I still have a handful of samples, I have a lot of full sized cleansers I need to work through, so i might go full size. I also have a package that just came in from a brand. If there is a serum in there it may be rotated in. We shall see. Actually I shall see tonight given that I’ll need to replace them tonight for my nightly routine. But you my darlings will have to wait and see what appears in next week’s exciting skincare line up. Stay turned and have a great Friday.

The Skincare Line Up: June 24th, 2022

The Skincare Line up June 24th, 2022

This week there wasn’t a lot of change from the week before. I did finish my trial of the Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluid, but I decided to keep it in the line up this week because I was sent a serum from BzzAgent to review and I figured keeping things steady while i started incorporating the new serum was a good idea. once I’m certain about the serum, I will adjust the day cream. Maybe. I really like the Embryolisse so I’m not really in a rush to shift it out of the line up. And even if I do shift it out, I will still use it as a body lotion. The only reason I am contemplating shifting it to the side is because I have several moisturizers lined up and ready for testing and I am curious about them. But that is a problem for another day. For now, let’s look at how this week’s skincare performed.

Makeup Remover: Nuxe Very Rose 3-in 1 Soothing Micellar Water

Cleanser: Clove and Hallow Cloud Powder Gentle Waterless Cleanser

Toner: Aavrani Balancing Restoring toning serum

Serum: Vitabrid C 12 Wrinkle Serum

Eye Cream: Symbiosis London Tightening and Resplendent Eye Mask

Moisturizer (Day) Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluid Moisturizer

Night Cream/Moisturizer: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Omega Rich Cloud Cream

Retinol: Kiehl’s Retinol Fast Release Wrinkle Reducing Night Serum

Lip Mask: Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask

Okay with the Nuxe, I do use a wet Makeup Eraser on my face before I use the Micellar water. I like getting the makeup off my face before I get down to skincare ingredients. the the reusable toner pads can clear up the last little bits of makeup and then give my skin the benefit of the ingredients in the product. if I don’t use the Makeup eraser first, I end up suing several toner pads because the first one just gunks up and I feel like i have wasted product.

In getting rid of the last dregs of makeup I feel that the Nuxe works well. I’ve also noticed that if i have spent a lot of time outside, my skin really enjoys the soothing nature of the Nuxe before i go into my cleanser. My cleanser is a gentle one but I like the soothing nature of the Micellar water. It does have a rose scent so if you are sensitive be aware. It it fairly light though and fades pretty quickly.

This Clove and Hallow Cloud cleanser is fantastic. Light fresh Mango powder scent (which is lightly vanilla-ish) and only one little shake of powder is all you need to cleanse everything. It foams well, rinses clean and when I am done my skin feels clean and ready to accept the incoming products.

I started the Aavrani last week and I was unsure if it was a serum or a toner. I’m pretty sure it is a toner. It has a few serum like properties, but it feels like a toner. To be honest, while I love the blue glass bottle aside from the pretty packaging it feels like a pretty basic toner. Perhaps the longer I use it, this will feel increasingly special, but at the moment it is a pretty bottle with a basic toner. It works as a toner, but it isn’t all that memorable.

The Vitabrid I am liking more and more though. I was a bit on the fence at first, but the more i use it the more I like it. It is a creamy serum that absorbs well and that my skin really seems to like. I haven’t seen any fine lines or wrinkle magically disappear yet, but my skin does feel and look good after applying the serum. It feels healthy and I can always get behind healthy skin.

The Symbiosis eye mask is still new but it seems to be working well as an eye cream. It is still early days yet, but it absorbs well and I’ve had no increase in pore clogging in the area around my eyes (my under eye area is really prone to that for some reason and always has been so not adding to the clogs is the first thing I look for in an eye cream). it is doing well and I am hopeful. I am aslo willing to continue using it to see how it performs long term.

The Embryolisse I love. Which isn’t a shocker. The Concentre is fantastic when my skin is winter dry, the sensitive worked for me over the spring and the Fluide version is perfect for summer day wear. If I use it at night as well, I need to roll in a night mask about twice a week, but other than that it is fine.

Because BzzAgent sent the Kiehls Cloud Cream I just started using it as a night cream and keeping the Fluide from Embryolisse for day time use. This combo has worked really well. The Keihl’s cloud cream has a whipped texture so it is packed with moisture but absorbs very quickly. It has a slightly medicinal scent to it, but I think most of Keihl’s products have a similar sort of scent. I actually kind of like it.

BzzAgent also sent the Kiehl’s Retinol Serum. Last night was my first night with it, so no results yet, but it absorbs well and had no stinging or redness with it. t is still early in the day, but i did have to go out into the garden and water the plants and then I had to take the trash out for pick up so I have been in the sun. And even though it is early the sun is out and it is now 90 outside. It wasn’t a lot of time outside, but there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of sun sensitivity. I have had some retinols where I felt like a vampire as soon as I stepped out side (it burns, it burns…) This did not have that. I hope that continues because our summer sun is no joke. It is an interesting serum. The retinol came separately and I had to mix it. I’ll post a first use on Monday to show the details but it was an interesting process and an interesting concept. For now it feels nice asn has yet to make me feel like I need to flee the sun.

And the tatcha Kissu lip mask, remains top rate. My lips are soft and nourished without a sun baked chapped bit in sight.

And so my darlings this is my skincare line up for the week. Over all it was a good week. A few products starting at the gate while a few are winding up their use. A few are worth purchasing and a couple aren’t but there were no majorly dramatic irritations or issues. And while drama is fun to read about, it is less fun when your skin is the stage. Hopefully you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. And then we’ll all see what happens as time passes. Have a great Friday, and if you are going out, don’t forget your sunscreen (I am finishing up my Neutrogena Beach Defense Spray at the moment and when it is done. I will start adding in a new sunscreen to the skincare line up for testing.)

The Skincare Line Up: May 27th, 2022

Good morning my darlings and welcome to another Friday Skincare line up. This week I used up several travel products and rolled in some new ones. I still have a few of the travel ones to work through, so it is still a bit of a mix. But there was enough differentiation that we will be going back to separate day and night time lines, even though a lot of the products were used at both times. Also you will see the Alpha H Liquid Gold in the full line up but it was not broken down this week because I honestly forgot to use it. It was behind the Embryolisse bottle and I just didn’t see it and forgot about it. The Embryolisse is a pump so I don’t have to pick it up, hence the no moving of the bottle. I didn’t see it until I lined things up for pics and had a “wait a minute… Moment. So next week it will be back. Until then…

The Morning Line Up

Cleanser: Clove and Hallow Cloud Powder Gentle Waterless Cleanser

Toner: Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner

Eye cream: Sunday Riley Five Star Eye Cream

Day Cream: Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluide

Serum: Vitabrid C12 Wrinkle Serum

Sunscreen: Elta MD Skincare UV Sheet Broad Spectrum SPF 50+

I am really loving the Clove and Hallow Cloud Powder. The trick is to blend some of the water in with your fingers rather than just putting your hands together and rubbing. When I just add water and put my hands together I end up with a cloud of product puffing back at me. So just cup it in one hand, add a little water and then make sure it is all wet by blending with your fingers before adding more water and rubbing your hands together. It saves a lot of mess. But it is a great cleanser and has a very light vanilla-y mango powder scent to it. It fades away almost instantly though so it isn’t strong at all. And I am really using very little of the powder with each wash so I know it will last a while.

The Elemis toner I love. It smells fresh and fruity and really helps when I have been in the sun all day. I am about a third through the bottle so it will obviously be staying as i work through it. I think this is definitely a toner i will be repurchasing.

The sunday Riley eye cream is really nice. It absorbs well and quickly and thus far it hasn’t clogged any of the pores around my eyes. (I tend to have a problem with that so it is something i watch) Over all a good eye cream. I can’t say I’ve seen spectacular results, but it has been good at reducing some of the minor lines.

I am hoping the Vitabrid will take down more of the fine lines for me. I just added it yesterday so I can’t really say there has been much of an instant reaction. It is a creamy serum, which I wasn’t expecting. I don’t mind it, but it was a bit of a surprise. The glass bottle is kind of heavy in the hand, in a good way and there is absolutely no scent that i could detect from the serum. It felt really nice yesterday and this morning. it absorbed well but it is a new to the line up product so I can’t say there are any results at the moment.

This week was the start of the Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluide trial. I’ve been trying the various products in their Lait Creme line. I have to say this is definitely the summer weight moisturizer. While I like it as a day creame I think that a couple of times a week I might want to roll in a night cream. It is very light and perfect for the hot weather, but I think a little night time boost might not be bad. I don’t think I’d need a night cream more than once or twice a week, but i think having one on hand might not be a bad thing.

There is a little Elta MD sunscreen left in the tube and this week I will finish it out. It has no scent which I like and it is water resistant, however it takes a lot of rubbing to massage it into your face enough that there is no white cast. It is a pretty decent sunscreen, but the massaging is a bit much. I don’t think this is going to be my regular sunscreen. I will finish using up the tube this week though.

The Night Time Line up

Makeup Remover: Yensa CBD Superfood Dual Cleansing Oil

Cleanser: Clove and Hallow Cloud Powder Gentle Waterless Cleanser

Toner: Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner

Eye cream: Sunday Riley Five Star Eye Cream

Day Cream: Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluide

Facial Oil: Pili Ani Ageless Concentrate

Okay there are only two products used at night that weren’t used during the day. the first is the Yensa Cleansing oil that I used to remove my makeup. it does really well with removing makeup but it is definitely a cleanser I want added to a double cleanse. I know it takes off the makeup, but I think there is something in my brain that just wants to wash the oil off even if there is no real residue from cleansing with the oil. Its a mental hiccup. I have used this product before and I really do like it. It is however one that you need to use as soon as you open it. It isn’t something to try out then set to the side and come back to later. When you first open it it has a very light scent. If you let it sit too long then the scent will gradually get stronger. It isn’t a bad scent but it is a very CBD type scent. It will still work well but it will be CBD -tastic in scent. I really like the pump dispenser and that only two pumps gets rid of all my makeup. It is just a makeup remover I will be using until it is gone. There will be no setting it aside to try something else.

The last item is the Pili Ani Ageless skincare concentrate. It is a facial oil and as such only a small amount is needed. Two drops is all that is needed. So even though it is a tiny little bottle, it will be hanging around another week. The oil has a slightly nutty scent to it. It does take a while to absorb in, but once it does it leaves no sticky or greasy residue on the skin and after applying it my skin feels really great. I haven’t noticed any real changes, but I haven’t been using it long (and probably don’t have enough in the bottle to use it long enough to see any changes) but my skin feels soft and hydrated after using it. I don’t know too much about it, but I have to say that given how it has performed this week, I would consider trying it out in a full sized bottle. It feels great on the skin and I do love oils that don’t leave you feeling oily.

And that was this week in my skincare line up. In the coming week I will lose an item or two and continue working with others. I think there is enough variety in product amounts that I will be able to slowly incorporate new things. I always prefer that to starting an entirely new line up at one time. So the skincare continues. Have a great Friday.

The Skincare Line Up: April 29th, 2022

As always there is a bare skin picture to the left. Last night i didn’t do such a fantastic job removing my mascara and it shows. Other than that I am happy with my skin this week. I will be rolling in an eye makeup remover this week, just because my Yensa tends to cloud the contacts a bit (its the fact that it is an oil). I’ve noticed that there have been more mornings where I end up waking up with mascara smudges lately so that will be next week’s change.

However, I am jumping ahead of myself.

The super man forehead curl was unintentional, it simply escaped my headband. As it still shows the improvement in the line I call my forehead’s stress crack, I think it should be okay for the picture. I will say my eyes are a little less puffy this week than they have been but with everything in bloom there are another couple of weeks where sleep or not, those bags will remain.

As always we have the skincare products used this week in the line up below. I forgot to replace my serum for the day time use so very little has changed since last week. However changes are in the air. So let’s see what we have shall we?

The Daytime Line Up

Cleanser: Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Wash

Essence: Time Revolution The First Essence 5X from Missha

Toner: Murad Hydrating Toner

Eye Cream: Sunday Riley 5 Star Eye Cream

Moisturizer: Embryolisse Lait Creme Sensitive

Sunscreen: Light Hearted Broad Spectrum SPF 30 from Sunday Riley

Everything in this list was used last week and everything keeps on ticking on. The Kate Somerville cleanser is okay. It is a decent cleanser and I like using it, but there is nothing that makes me say, wow I want to repurchase this cleanser. The most distinctive part of it is the lid, which I admit I do like. Instead of a twist off cap it twists and opens a hole in the middle. It is really nice and easy to use and I don’t have to worry about dropping the cap with wet hands. I love the cap. The cleanser is okay.

I love the essence. It feels good on the skin and makes me love my skin. To be honest I think the essence is one of the reasons why i haven’t felt the need to add a serum. I will, but I was okay this week without it.

The Murad Toner is nice (and yes I do use it before the essence, I was just weird with listing it.) It takes off the last traces of makeup letting me know my face is absolutely clean. And it doesn’t dry my skin. In general Murad always does what Murad says they are going to do. I keep one of their acne fighting cleansers around for back up because it fights acne so well. I can’t use it a lot because it will dry my skin out, but used when needed it takes down acne fast. Then I set it aside for later. I like the way Murad groups their products because it makes it easy to know exactly what it is you are using. And this is one of my favorite toners.

The eye cream is new enough to the line up that I can’t say there are massive results, but my skin absorbs it well and I haven’t seen any increase in clogged pores around my eyes (I am prone to clogging there) so at the moment I am quite pleased with it.

The Embyolisse Sensitive is proving that it is just as good as the original. everything about it is a slight bit lighter than the original. It has a lighter scent and a lighter moisturizer level. Which honestly makes it perfect for this time of the year. Embryolisse sent three of their moisturizers to me and I am beginning to think they are seasonal, at least for my skin. The Lait Creme Concentre is a great winter time moisturizer, the sensitive is proving fantastic for the spring (and my guess is the fall) the third is the Fluid and I’m guessing for me that will be a summer weight version. There are a few more weeks with the sensitive trial before I find out of course. But I think that is what will happen. Or at least I hope it will because by the time this trial is over we will be into much warmer temps so it would be about perfect timing.

Speaking of warmer temps drawing me outside. This Sunday Riley sunscreen has been working well. It has a little white to it when first applied which I kind of like because I can see where I put it. As soon as it warms to skin temp the white disappears completely. It can leave me a little shiny looking but after about ten minutes most of the shinieness fades. By then I am usually applying makeup or I’ll just tap my face with a bit of powder. This is the time of year i always keep a pressed powder compact in my purse. It’s there most of the time, but spring and summer it really helps.

So shall we move into the night…

The Nighttime Line Up

Cleanser: Yensa CBD Superfood Dual Cleansing Oil

Essence: Time Revolution The First Essence 5X from Missha

Makeup Remover: Makeup Cloths from The Turkish Towel Company (I’m using the cleansing oil as a makeup remover too)

Serum: The Nue Co Topical C

Eye Cream: Sunday Riley 5 Star Eye Cream

Moisturizer: Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre (Sensitive)

Lips: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in berry

The Yensa CBD oil I have used before and like. The scent is light when you start but if you let it sit around the scent will grow stronger. I prefer the light scent. While I love this oil for cleansing my face, when i use it to remove eye makeup the oil can cloud my contacts, so this coming week I will be bringing in an eye makeup remover to try out. Other than that it is a fantastic cleanser. And If I remembered to take out my contacts before cleansing it wouldn’t be an issue.

This week i remembered to use the topical C powder. I added it to my moisturizer at night, just one r two shakes and I really like adding it in. I will say though that the Embryolisse is the kind of moisturizer that can take add ins well. It has a good body to it. I am not sure how this powder would work when used with a thinner bodied cream. I may actually swap it out for a different serum this week and keep it to the side until i switch moisturizers, just because I am curious as to how it would perform with outer textures of moisturizer.

And finally for the night we have the Laniege lip mask. It is fabulous. My one complaint is that because it is so large I have one scent for a really long time. I think that in the future I would pick up a set of minis so I have three smaller jars and can move between scents. I like the berry but there are so many other scents I want to try and I feel a little guilty setting it aside to open a new one when there is so much product left. I’ve been using this for about a year now (I think. I believe it came in last May’s IPSY X) and it is still half full. It is a great product though so the complaint is just me wanting to try more versions of it.

The Others

Alpha H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid – A toner used every other day

Shani Darden Retinol Reform (used Tuesday and Thursday nights)

This is the last of the Shani Darden. The sample tube is alas empty. It was a really great retinol. It was making me a little bit sun sensitive. I could feel it on my first walks of the Day Wednesday and Friday mornings. Since I use it Tuesdays and Thursdays I’m pretty sure it was the culprit. So it is probably good it is rolling out of the line up. I would certainly use it again as my skin looked great the morning after I used it. I have it marked down on my list of products to purchase in a full size, however I think I will wait until the end of the summer to do so. I am just spending increasing time outside and it is just going to increase as the weather warms. So I generally use retinal during the colder months when my time out doors is limited. But this is definitely a product i want to try in the full size.

The Alpha H Liquid Gold will continue to be used, which is fine with me. I really like it. And will happily use this on up and then reach for the second back up bottle that came in my Glossy Box Easter egg this year. My skin feels clearer and less prone to clogs, even in my high clog areas so I am very happy with this. I will say that the first couple of uses stung and I wondered if it was too harsh, however the stinging faded and there is no discomfort now, just clear skin. I am a big fan and am glad this use will continue.

And that my darlings is the weekly skincare round up. Next week I’ll be adding a couple of serums and losing a retinol. Otherwise things are chugging along nicely. I am happy with my skin and while it may be fun to read about dramatic skincare, I personally prefer when things works smoothly and my skin ahs no complaints.

I’ll see you back here later today for the Friday Face Mask. Until then, have a wonderful Friday.

The Skincare Line Up: April 1st, 2022

Ah yes my darlings, another week of skincare down. And changes are a foot. Several products are on the verge of being empty and will soon be replaced. First we look at my skin as it is the ultimate response to how products are working. Personally I think my skin is looking quite nice this week. I have a few bumps around my lower orbital bone, but I think that a lot of that is more to do with where my face mask presses’ than any skincare products.

my bare skin this week

And this afternoon i will be using my Bl’eau Mask which will bring up the clogs and since I won’t be wearing makeup or facemasks this weekend then my skin will have time to clear out the issues before next week starts up. Other than that, I have no real skin issues this week. Which is always nice to say. we are on the verge of seasonal changing though so in the coming weeks there may be a bit of finding my footing as the temperatures rise. A lot of that will depend on if we have a slow spring that rolls gently into the summer or if the Summer sun shows up early and clobbers spring into submission. Last year we had a long cold spring and then almost no autumn to speak of. Si I guess we will see what we get this year. But weather (and the future) aside, let’s see how this week’s products performed. For many of them, this is tha last time in the Line up this go round although some will be returning.

The Daytime Line Up

Cleanser: Time Revolution Artemisia Pack Foam Cleanser from Missha

Essence: 111Skin Antioxidant Energizing Essence

Serum: The Nue Co’s The Pill

Toner: Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic

Eye Cream: MZ Skin Sooth and Smooth eye cream

Moisturizer: Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre

All of these products were in use last week (and several week’s prior. Next week will see many of them go away. The Missha Cleanser is almost used up. I think the fact that I used it as a mask as well as a cleanser used up the tube far faster than anticipated. I will definitely order this again and I will use it as a cleanser. when i use it as a mask it won’t be as a traditional face mask but as a cleanser I let sit to sooth the skin. I am actually ordering a new tube soon (they have a massive sale right now 20% off with code HELLO20) just so that I can have it on hand for the summer. That Artemisia is fantastic at soothing sun irritation (as well as other irritations) and I want it on hand.

The 111Skin essence has been great and I have loved not only how it increased the efficacy of the other products I was using but also the high end spa scent it brought to my routine. It was nice and I would certainly use it again. However I think there is only enough product to get through the weekend. Soon a new essence will join the line up. I have enjoyed the 111Skin Essence though.

The Nue Co’s The Pill is one of the few products staying. It is nice. It isn’t my favorite serum. I haven’t noticed anything that makes me think Wow when I use it. I think part of that is because it is an everything serum. There is not one targeted thing that I can see it doing. I’ll keep using it because it is nice, but i am still trying to figure out how i feel about it. The Vitamin C powder from the Nue co is another story, but I’ll get to that in the night time routine.

The Pixi toner is one I like. I’ve used it before and will no doubt use it again. The sample size I have is almost out. So I will use it this week. I plan to roll in the Alpha H Liquid Gold Toner which can only be used every other day so I will probably be using those together in the coming week. This should make the small amount of toner last out the week.

The MZ eye cream has been performing well. There is some reduction in fine lines. I would have expected to see a little more of a result but we are just approaching the thirty day mark (I think, I sort of lost track with the eye cream and will have to check) so it is still a little early to expect massive results. I will keep using it and hope the results increase. I think part of my expectations is that I know how much the cream costs ($159 per jar) and the cost leads me to expect really spectacular results. Especially since I have gotten spectacular results with a $30 eye cream. But as always where skincare is concerned, only time will tell.

And this leads us to the Embryolisse. I love this moisturizer. It has been fantastic. I thought that with the changing seasons it might end up being too heavy, but it hasn’t been. However we are approaching a moment. I have used it for thirty days. Now while I would love to keep using it, I have two other creams from the Lait creme line of Embryolisse so I need to use each of them in turn and compare them. However this moment also makes me happy. I tried the Embryolisse as a pre makeup base and now I am hooked. So while I would like to keep using it as a moisturizer, I am relocating it to my makeup bag and will be using it before applying my makeup while I test out the other moisturizers in this line. For me this is a win win. Having it in my makeup bag means I won’t forget it and can use it each day with my makeup and won’t have to run back to the bathroom to fetch it. So that’s kind of a bonus win for me. I will have the thirty day final post of this up next week with a lot more detail.

But that was my Day time line up. Only three of the products will be back next week. And new ones will be gin their testing. I can’t wait. But for now it is into the night…

The Nighttime Line Up

Cleanser: Time Revolution Artemisia Pack Foam Cleanser from Missha

Makeup Remover: Sunday Riley Vitamin C Makeup Removing Oil Paired with the Makeup Cloths from The Turkish Towel Company (currently on sale on the site)

Essence: 111Skin Antioxidant Energizing Essence

Serum: The Nue Co Topical C

Facial Oil: Annmarie Anti-Aging Facial Oil and Byroe Fig Recovery oil

Exfoliating Pads: The Somme Institute Transport Exfoliating pads

Eye Cream: MZ Skin Sooth and Smooth eye cream

Moisturizer: Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre

Lips: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in berry

Okay I won’t go into the repeat products from the morning as they worked the same in the day as they did in the night. I needed a break from the Vike spray. It works well but that scent made me feel like i was in a cloud of vaporized mothballs and I needed a break. So I went to my skincare drawer knowing I have at least two cleansing balms in there. And at the back I found this Sunday Riley Vitamin C makeup remover oil. There is only a little bit left so i decided I would go ahead and just use it up. I used it this week and think that there might be enough left to finish it out this week. It was fantastic. I am a bit fan of the entire Vitamin C line, but I couldn’t find this on their website so i think it may have been dropped. It is a really good makeup remover and I didn’t have to scrub that much a the makeup just melted away.

I am finishing up the second week of trying out the Makeup removal cloths from the Turkish Towel company and am really liking them. I know this sounds strange, but the fact that they have the word Makeup embroidered on the front has kept them from going walk about. Everyone leaves them alone and they don’t get used for other things. which means I can easily rotate through them and not wonder where they got to.

The topical C powder is fantastic in my moisturizer. It just melts in and blends beautifully. I am a huge fan. I am however not a fan of the Somme institute. I think the pads didn’t even make it into today’s photo because I just stopped using them this week. The serum is fine but those cloth pads are a pain. So I stopped using them. I know it is wasteful but i just got so annoyed that i didn’t want to bother. I’ll do a short review detailing my experience and why I’m letting them go but i am passing them on to someone who will hopefully get better use out of them.

And finally there is Laniege. I love the lip mask and will use it until it is gone. Which will take a while as there is a lot of product in the container and you don’t use that much with each application. But it is fabulous. I think that when i do repurchase, i will go with the mini set so that I can switch out scents and flavors. But it is a great product.

And so that is my skincare line up for this week. Over all things went well. there were some misses, but nothing missed badly enough that it cause a break out, so i am calling that good.

The Skincare Line Up: March 4th, 2022

This is the last week that I will have only one routine. As products start to roll off of the line up this week, there will be more separation from night and day. This week however, the makeup remover nd the lip mask were the only real night time only elements. In fact there was little change from last week. But let’s get into it.

Cleanser: Time Revolution Artemisia Pack Foam Cleanser from Missha (20% off with code FEB20)

Makeup Remover: Vike Makeup Melt Paired with a Makeup Eraser

Essence: 111Skin Antioxidant Energizing Essence

Toner: Buttah AHA/BHA Rosewater toner

Serum: Grace and Stella Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Facial Oil: Byroe Fig Renewal oil

Eye Cream: MZ Skin Sooth and Smooth eye cream

Moisturizer: Hey Honey Relax Propolis and Honey Soothing Moisturizer and Hey Honey Boost it Up Honey Rich Moisturizer

Lips: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in berry

Okay, let’s start at the top. The more I use this Missha cleanser the more I like it. I love that the mask consistency clearly shows where the cleanser has been so there is no guessing about missing sections of the face. You know exactly where the cleanser is. This afternoon i am going to try it out as a face mask to test out that aspect but in all honesty if it is a good mask that would just be a nice bonus. It is a great cleanser and I will happily use it as a cleanser.

The Vike Makeup remover is interesting. While I like it and it does work as well as it did when I did my full review, I have noticed that because the mist is so fine I tend to go overboard with the spraying. I think I am actually using more of the product than I need as a result. It hasn’t caused any problems, and it works just as well, I just suspect that because of the spray, I will end up going through the product pretty fast. Which means if I continued using it I might have to purchase it more often than I would a balm. It is entirely my own fault and I do realize I am doing it, I’m just not always that successful in reminding myself to stop.

The 111Skin Essence is fantastic. I really like it. It has a very spa like scent that makes me feel a bit fancier than I actually am, which I don’t mind. I’ve used my skincare with the essence and without and I can defiantly notice the essence giving a little bit of a hand to the other products. Its a bit like a turbo boost for the other skincare.

I am less impressed with the Buttah skin toner. It works as well as any other toner and despite the name doesn’t really have a rosewater scent to it, but there is a bit of a stickiness left behind (and yes I use it before the essence, I just listed it after for some reason). The sample is half way through and I will use the last of the sample, but I don’t see myself picking up a full sized version.

I do see myself picking up a full size of the Grace and Stella HA Serum. This sample has been fantastic. My skin feels nice and I think there is a small reduction in my fine lines. For a while it seemed like the serum sample would last forever but alas I may be able to squeak through another couple of days with it before the bottle is empty. Rest assured though the full sized bottle is definitely on my list to purchase for a full out trial.

The Byroe Fig oil is interesting. I am using it around the lines around my mouth. I love that the dry oil absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy film and smells like figs. I like figs. there is a little bit of improvement in the fine lines but I think I will need to continue to see. As I don’t often use facial oils and frequently receive them in subscription boxes it is nice to have a designated place to use them, so I am really hoping the addition of a facial oil on these lines helps.

The MZ eye cream also seems to be doing well. It is too early to tell actual results but thus far it is fast absorbing and not clogging the pores around my eyes. I will continue using it and see if some of my fine lines plump up and become less noticeable.

While there are two moisturizers listed, they are both samples. Last week I tried the Hey Honey Relax sample that I had to see how I liked it. I had a few days of product left at the end of the week so I finished out the sample and rolled in the second Hey Honey moisturizer sample I had. I wanted to try them out closer to one another to see how they performed and which one I liked more. The Relax moisturizer had a very distinctive honey scent to it. Not surprising given it’s full name. the scent was like honey mixed with skin care so it didn’t smell sweet and cloying. Just sort of like honey mixed with cream. I really enjoyed the scent and it was a fantastic day cream. It is the sort of moisturizer where I could see rolling in a night mask twice a week for an extra moisture kick. If I did that I think i would be perfectly happy with the Relax.

The Boost it up on the other hand does not have that Honey scent. Honestly it’s scent is as though you stored the Grace and Stella HA serum mixed with cream in the same cupboard with a honey jar for a week. there is a slight whiff of honey in the background but it is mostly a light moisturizer that has that slight HA scent to it. Although I don’t know if hyaluronic acid actually has a scent but it seems like the scent most HA infused products end up having. It is also slightly more moisturizing than the Relax. I don’t think it is overly moisturizing for me. For my skin at the time of year it seems to be balanced. I don’t need any kind of night mask paired with it, but I also don’t feel greasy. While I liked the Relax as a Day cream, this Is just a really good all round moisturizer. Or it is thus far. This sample tube is larger than the Relax so there is the possibility it will last through most of the coming week. Even if I have to roll in another product when the sample is done, I will add my final thoughts on the sample, but for the few days I have used it thus far, this seems like a good moisturizer for me. I think that of the two, unless something happens this week, I would try the Boost it up in a full size before I went for the Relax. I still like the Relax, I just like this one a little bit better.

and finally we end with the Laneige lip sleeping mask. It is berry, it is overnight moisturizing and my lips love it. I do need to pick up a lip scrub to pair with it, especially going into spring, but for now it is chugging along fabulously. I will say that this is one of those products where the mini sampler packs are quite appealing. I like the berry and I appreciate the value in having a product that will last a long time. But with the mini containers I could rotate scents a little more instead of always using the berry. I think when this full size runs out I will go for the mini kits so that I can switch and swap scents. But otherwise, I like the lip mask.

Over all this week was pretty good. Which isn’t surprising since there were a lot of steady on products. I will be bringing in a new serum and I might actually split them between day and night time use as I start to separate back into day and night time use. Also I have couple of night time moisturizing products I might start using so there might be a wider gap between night and day soon. For now, this was my line up. My skin did pretty well this week and I am a happy camper. So now we dive into Friday. I hope yours is a fabulous one.

The Skincare Line Up: December 30th, 2021

No my darlings, you have not lost a day somewhere. I will be skipping Friday’s posting so I thought I’d get my skincare line up in a day early. There will be no Weekly weight post as this is the last week of my Holiday from the scale. Next week is when the world will get back to normal. Or at least that is what i tell myself.

You may notice that my Skincare line up is much diminished this week. In fact it is downright minimalist. Only three items, can you believe it?

The reasoning is simple. I had issues with my moisturizer. when I first dispensed the Juice Beauty product, it came out thin and watery. After two days it was coming out thick and applied on the skin like old fashioned zinc oxide sunscreen. Rubbing it in to remove the white cast took a great deal of effort. The product dates didn’t list it as expired. I’ve never had issues with Juice Beauty before. Perhaps it was just a bad batch or it wasn’t mixed properly. Either way it wasn’t fun. Then I started getting red and itchy. Trial and error pinpointed the cause as the moisturizer.

So I discontinued use, the redness and itchiness faded. This week however I took a break from makeup and therefore did not need any makeup removing products. I actually just kept to the three essentials.

My Cleanser was the Elemis Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser. It was gentle enough to not irritate my angry skin while it healed but let me still wash my face at night. It was an excellent product and I am very glad it was in my line up this week.

The second Item I used was the Terravibe CBD Age Defying Eye Serum. Even though it is listed as an eye serum it was used all over the face. While the hyaluronic acid is a big help it was the calming and soothing elements in this serum that were very helpful this week.

And then the replacement moisturizer. I went with the sample of the belif Aqua Bomb moisturizer. I used it because I’ve used it before and knew it wouldn’t irritate my skin. It is a good moisturizer but usually it is way too wet a formula for me. I can sort of pull it off in the winter, but it really is too wet for my skin type. It is gentle. It just takes forever to absorb and I can only use a little bit. which is sort of a good thing as there isn’t much in the sample. It is a very small sample of product. I have maybe a day or two left and once I finish with it, I will roll in something else. While this is a decent enough moisturizer, it is too wet for me and not something I will repurchase.

I know, that is just such a small listing of skincare products. It seems so strange to me. But my skin needed the minimum this week. Next week, I will start adding things back in and see how things fare. For now, this trio really worked for me.

The Skincare Line up: September 10th, 2021

Good morning my darlings! we have made it to the end of the week. This week my skin is feeling much better than it was before, despite a few hormonal break outs. I was able to keep some of my line up as well as add in a few new products. So lets take a look at how this week’s products worked out.

Daytime Skin Care

Deodorant: Native Blackberry and Green Tea Deodorant

Cleanser: Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser Pre + Probiotics Greek Yoghurt

Toner: Murad Hydrating Toner

Essence: Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence from Missha (Gifted by brand)

Serum: Herbal Dynamics Beauty Hyaluronic Acid62% Hydrating Serum

Eye Cream: ESPA 24 Hour Replenishing Eye Moisturizer

Moisturizer: OSEA Atmosphere Protection Cream

Sunscreen: Volition Prismatic Luminizing Shield in SPF 50

Toothpaste: Crest Gum Detoxify Deep Clean

Okay to be honest, my daytime line up didn’t change. I was planning on changing out the day time moisturizer, but I figured since i changed out the night time one I would leave the OSEA in place this week. It is not my favorite moisturizer, but it isn’t bad. I think it just feels a little heavier on my skin than I like during the day. I’ll end up[ using it as a moisturizer on my hands post wash and sanitation so it won’t go to waste, but something about it does feel a bit heavier.

While I love the Herbal Dynamics Beauty Hyaluronic acid, I think I want to just use it at night instead of day and night. This week I used it for both and while my skin loved it, I think it might be making me a little bit sun sensitive. I did notice that despite the Volition sunscreen I was getting a bit more red from time outside than i usually do.

The Missha Artemisia helped take that red down a lot and make me feel better, but what’s the old saying – An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I like having something that helps, but I’d rather not need the help. So I am going to roll in a day time serum this coming week and save the Herbal Dynamics for the night time. On the plus side, it may make the serum last longer. I think I have about two more weeks of product left if used that way.

Over all those are my thoughts on the daytime line up. Everything else just worked really well. I keep feeling the ESPA eye cream tube and hoping that the product won’t run out because I am really enjoying it. The Korres Cleanser I am afraid won’t make it much longer. I might be able to use it all week, but I suspect by about Wednesday It too may run out and need to be replaced. It is a fantastic cleanser and one that I will be purchasing repeatedly in the future.

Nighttime Skin Care

Makeup Remover: Makeup Eraser Cloth

Cleanser: Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser Pre + Probiotics Greek Yoghurt

Exfoliator: Hey Honey Come Clean Propolis and Minerals Facial Scrub

Toner: Murad Hydrating Toner

Essence: Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence from Missha (Gifted by brand)

Serum: Herbal Dynamics Beauty Hyaluronic Acid62% Hydrating Serum

Eye Cream: ESPA 24 Hour Replenishing Eye Moisturizer

Lips: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry

Night Mask: Elemis Peptide 4 Plumping Pillow Facial

Toothpaste: Crest Gum Detoxify Deep Clean

This week my Peach Pudding Makeup remover ran out and so I replaced it with my Makeup Eraser. That’s it. No product, just the makeup eraser. It worked well. I just used water and took off my makeup with it, It worked well. The Korres took off the rest so there was little makeup remaining.

I did end up using the Hey Honey exfoliator a bit more this week. About three times instead of once a week. It was gentle enough that I could do this, but I really did enjoy the exfoliator as well. I think because I eliminated one cleansing product i automatically reached for a replacement. It felt good though and did help with the remains of the breakouts so my skin is much clearer. Ido want to go back to a once a week exfoliation though.

Even though I really like using my Makeup Eraser, I think I am going to roll in a micellar water or cleansing oil or something. I think I just really like a double clean as well as the cloth.

This week the big new product in the line up was the Elemis pillow facial. I meant to roll it in and just use it a few times a week while choosing a different night cream, but I just ended up using it as a night cream on it’s own. It is fantastic. I love the scent, It is a lightly floral scent that seems strong in the jar but fades pretty quickly once applied. The cream is light, almost like a gel cream consistency and it absorbs really quickly so your face isn’t stuck to the pillowcase. I think because it’s texture reminded me so much of a gel cream I didn’t remember to roll in a different night cream. And to be honest, I am not sure i will bring in a different moisturizer at night. For now this is just the right amount of moisture for my skin just before bed time. I’ll be changing out the day time moisturizer this week, but between the Elemis on my face and the Laneige on my lips, my night time is happily covered.

The Skincare Line up: September 3rd, 2021

Ah yes, this week in skincare. It has been fun. Last week I had quite a massive patch of breakouts on my chin. For me the chin is always the canary in the coal mine for skincare concerns. It gets overly greasy first and it shows dry spots first as well. And last week it was throwing up all sorts of signals. So this week I pulled out the elements that were new in the skincare line up and went solely back to products I knew worked well. And then I played with the products i thought were causing issues.

Surprisingly all of the new products were problematic. I tried the Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle foaming cleanser. While it smelled nice, it didn’t give me a deep down clean and left far too much gunk on my face, which was not good.

The second new skincare item was the Naobay Detox Oxygen light cream. This cream smelled nice, absorbed well but was slightly too heavy for me. It also made my skin feel itchy. In order to see if it was the cream or the cream in conjunction with other products, I used this on my arm for a couple of days. In general I find if I test a product on my inner arm it will give me a good indication of what is going on. My arm was fine for the first day but by day two it was very itchy and I had to stop using the cream on my arm. So this may be a good product, but I think i may just be allergic to something in it. I’m going to have to break down the ingredients list and see if i can figure out what because I didn’t see anything problematic on the label.

One thing that also didn’t help is that last week i was testing out a Vesca primer and it made my skin itchy as well. I tested it on the inside of my other arm and after a few days of repeat use my arm broke out in a small rash.

So at least whatever it is that i am allergic to I am only slightly allergic to or it takes a while to build up to a level my skin doesn’t like. while this ingredient has yet to be identified, I know that all of the products listed below are ones my skin has no issues with and i was thrilled to be able to fall back on them. As always they behaved well and helped me calm my skin down from it’s break out session. Because there is nothing really new, there is minimal break out of the listed products this week. Just know, they all worked like rockstars.

Daytime Skin Care

Deodorant: Native Blackberry and Green Tea Deodorant

Cleanser: Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser

Toner: Murad Hydrating Toner

Essence: Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence from Missha (Gifted by brand)

Serum: Herbal Dynamics Beauty Hyaluronic Acid62% Hydrating Serum

Eye Cream: ESPA 24 Hour Replenishing Eye Moisturizer

Moisturizer: OSEA Atmosphere Protection Cream

Sunscreen: Volition Prismatic Luminizing Shield in SPF 50

Toothpaste: Crest Gum Detoxify Deep Clean

Yup a return to what I know works. I think the Korres Cleanser needs an extra special shout out though. because of last week’s cleanser, I realized just how fantastic this product was. This will not be my last bottle of the Korres Foaming Cleanser.

Night time Skincare

Makeup Remover: Peach Pudding Makeup Remover

Cleanser: Korres Foaming Cream Cleanser

Toner: Murad Hydrating Toner

Essence: Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence from Missha (Gifted by brand)

Serum: Herbal Dynamics Beauty Hyaluronic Acid62% Hydrating Serum

Eye Cream: ESPA 24 Hour Replenishing Eye Moisturizer

Moisturizer: OSEA Atmosphere Protection Cream

Lips: Laneige Lip Sleeping mask in Berry

Night Mask: Wander Beauty Do not Disturb Overnight repair serum

Toothpaste: Crest Gum Detoxify Deep Clean

With the night products the only thing to really report is that the Peach pudding makeup Remover and the Wander Beauty Night Mask are both almost empty. I have about one week or so left in the makeup remover and maybe two nights worth of the Wander Beauty do not disturb. Both have been fantastic products to use and I will be sad to see them go. I will definitely pick up the Peach Pudding makeup remover again. It is from Peach and Lily and the only products it had issues with were a few of my mascaras. As my Makeup Eraser took care of any left over mascara I didn’t think it much of a problem. The container cost $9.99 and lasted over a month so there are no complaints there either. in fact because Peach and Lily is having a massive 50% off labor day sale, I might stock up on this now that it is on sale.

the Wander Beauty night mask I would use again as well. They too are having a large labor Day sale if you are interested. I actually have a second container of this mask in my skin care drawer waiting it’s turn to be used so I don’t need to repurchase it anytime soon, however it is one that I will happily use again.

and now that my skin is calming down once again I am looking forward to slowly adding in new products. with luck this time there won’t be any drastic reactions.
